I am passionate about helping clients in their journey towards healing and restoration. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their life stories and have conversations they might not be able to have anywhere else. I enjoy helping my clients feel a renewed sense of hope through empathy and compassion. College is usually sold as "the best years of your life," but for a lot of students, it feels more like a non-stop cycle of pressure. At Alpine Creek, we work best with students who are tired of pretending they have it all figured out. Most of our student clients come to us because they feel like they’re just "getting by" rather than actually living. What it often feels like: Constant Brain Fog: You’re physically in class, but your mind is stuck on your to-do list, your grades, or a conversation that went wrong three days ago. The "Social Battery" is Dead: Trying to find your place on campus or dealing with roommate drama is leaving you feeling more drained than connected. Relationship Stress: Whether it's a long-distance struggle or a new relationship here in town, you’re arguing more and feeling less understood. Heavy Weight: You might be carrying things from your past, like trauma or old family stuff, that feels like it’s getting heavier now that you’re on your own. The "What’s the Point?" Feeling: It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re dealing with deep sadness or an anxiety that won't let you catch your breath. How we help: We don’t do "clinical" or "stuffy" therapy. We provide a straightforward, safe space to just be a human. We help you look at the patterns that keep you stuck and give you actual tools to manage the panic, the low moods, and the relationship blowouts.

My approach to therapy includes lots of feedback, reflection, challenge, and humor. If you're feeling stuck or have found therapy unsuccessful in the past, contact me. I've seen my clients transform, even when things seem hopeless to them. We will look at the positive changes you are making in your life, as well as places where you may feel challenged. I will work with you to understand your obstacles and I will help you to acquire the skills needed to overcome them.
A lot of people say they knew at a young age they would be a therapist, but that wasn’t me. I grew up in a military family and thought I would continue that tradition and be a stay-at-home mom. Instead, I found myself in a journalism career and a marriage I didn’t like. Starting over after 30, I chose to return to school and pursue a degree in social work. Since then, I’ve worked with the military, in inpatient facilities, and in outpatient care. I love working with women who find themselves “outside the box” when it comes to societal expectations (child-free/childless, unmarried, or just a-plain-ol’ rebel). I love to focus on resiliency, self-improvement/self-esteem, personal growth, and even a bit of spirituality (if that's your thing). I'm a very laid-back, nontraditional therapist. I believe you are the expert in your own life and, sometimes, we just need some guidance or permission to do the things we know we need to do. I don't assign homework cause, frankly, I wouldn't do it if I were in your shoes, but I will suggest some tasks or actions that may be something to focus on between sessions. I also expect clients to show up with a discussion topic or something to start us off with; again, the time is yours to use as you feel best. I have very eclectic interests. Two things that are very important to me are spirituality and non-traditional relationships. I feel both have their own challenges and prejudices to overcome. I'm always looking for ways to include and incorporate my client's spiritual beliefs (if they choose to share) into sessions and help them build a strong foundation. Nontraditional relationships (including kink dynamics) can be a challenge to bring to therapy as there's often a perceived level of judgment—not here! I celebrate however your relationship looks and work to help you create the most nurturing and healthy relationship however that looks. One of my core values is curiosity, so I love it when I get to learn a little something from my clients. Having grown up in a military family that moved every three years like clockwork, learning about people and cultures has been a huge part of my life. I encourage my clients to practice showing and embodying their authenticity with me so they may go out into the world more confidently. I believe we all have something beautiful to share and learn from each other and I encourage those I work with to explore that on a deeper level.

My clients are what I like to call "smart, but stuck." If you experience anxiety, OCD, phobias, or panic attacks, you know how you can get tied into knots trying to arrange your life to control fearful thoughts and feelings. You might find yourself getting stuck in overthinking, repetitive actions, research, reassurance seeking, and avoidance of people, places, and situations that you used to enjoy. I help people get liberated from anxiety by getting unstuck from what doesn't work.
I have over 20 years of working with college students in both counseling and pastoral care contexts.

I believe in a therapeutic process that is collaborative and flexible — meeting my clients where they are to foster meaningful growth and change. I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and honest reflection to create a non-judgmental space for self-exploration. I am passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing emotional struggles, low self-esteem, transitional issues, and attachment injuries. My aim is to collaboratively help you understand patterns in which you feel stuck, find relief from narratives that are no longer yours, and learn how to move towards your goals. I am a graduate of Columbia’s School of Social Work and have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). I am intensively trained in working with body image issues and disordered eating. My style is warm, genuine, and non-judgmental while providing transparent feedback throughout the therapeutic process to maximize emotional growth and healing. I work as a supportive and collaborative partner with each of my clients to find and achieve long-term solutions.

Hello, I'm Mercy, a mother and a wife. Life is a continuous journey that has no end until we take our last breath! While we partake in this journey, it is well known that it can be challenging. However, one has the power to ease the pain associated with this journey through understanding when help is needed, seeking the help, and being open to accepting the support. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado in 2006 and my master’s degree in counseling in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix, Colorado Springs campus in 2012. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Colorado and Arizona. Over the course of my clinical career, I have worked and trained in residential treatment and community mental health centers including department of corrections and private practice. I consider myself a lifelong learner and crave learning new information. Due to my intensive training in Marriage and Family Therapy in graduate school, I have made this area my primary passion and focus. I have participated in extensive postgraduate training in addictions. However, I also greatly enjoy providing individual and group counseling for children and adults who are looking for support with more mild life stressors such as depression, anxiety, parenting education, health and wellness, and behavioral struggles. I specialize in family relationships, multicultural/diversity issues, grief/bereavement, depression, anxiety, anger management, and spirituality. I approach my work with a sense of humor, respect, humility, and honesty. I am honored to join my clients in their individual journeys towards wellness, leading to their brighter future. If you're ready to take the next step on your journey, I would be honored to support you along the way. Let's work together to create a brighter future.
At times, life is filled with authenticity, laughter, and fun. Other times it can be demanding, draining, and leave us feeling unsure. The highs and lows of life are normal and we all feel it, but at times we need extra support and space, and that is okay! As your therapist, my main goal is to provide an open, safe and accepting place for all to navigate life. Through deconstructing unhelpful beliefs, utilizing art and play to aid in emotional expression and increasing self-compassion, my hope is to find unique ways to support your or you child's journey to better mental health. In the space we create together, I hope to sit along side you/your child to collaborate on ways to reach the goals you have for yourself. Through an eclectic, person-centered approach I help people (ages 3-25) increase their positive engagement in life by managing life transitions, processing trauma, and assisting with general mental health care. If you were on a hike, you would want a really good fitting pair of hiking boots...think of choosing a therapist like that! If I might be that therapist for you please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions to see if we are the best fit for you. I look forward to supporting you in the best way I can.
Our therapists live and practice all over the country, offering high-quality mental health counseling to clients of all genders, age ranges, orientations, and cultural/ethnic backgrounds. I find that life transitions can be overwhelming and feel lonely. Life transitions can look like anything: leaving home, starting college, loosing your job, finding out you have a chronic illness, getting married, getting divorced, loosing a loved one, having a baby, or discovering you're an addict, to name a few. Sure there's books on a lot of different subjects and friends can be helpful. But everything has it's limits. Maybe nobody seems very willing to listen, maybe that's even just it, there's nobody to listen, or maybe you don't want to overwhelm others. I put on a lot of different hats: listener, advocate, leader, cheerleader, challenger, teacher, validator, coach, researcher, or surrogate. We do whatever it takes to get you to the point where you feel like you're done with therapy. Most often I find people feel that they are done when they feel at peace.
