Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
At some point, many people realize that what they're doing is no longer working, but they're not sure what to do to fix it. I specialize in people (13+) and families who are dealing with conflict, self-defeating behaviors, anxiety, depression, stress, anger, loneliness, relationship issues, low self-esteem, or questions of identity. Through my practice, I've successfully helped clients move past issues that have blocked them from living fully, completely, and whole-heartedly. While working with me, they've been able to find more joy, happiness, success, and peace in the areas of their life that matter most to them. Together, we'll build your self-awareness, develop clarity on your goals and values, and foster an understanding of where you're coming from and where you'd like to go. I use several evidence-based modalities to help my clients do that, but the most important aspect of my practice is my relational, non-judgmental, open, direct, and clear approach. My work matters deeply to me and I feel a strong calling to give my clients my best, session after session. There's no better feeling I get than when my clients sense their progress and recognize that their life is changing in ways they've always longed for. If any of this has resonated with you, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's talk.
Welcome to Kass Integrative Psychiatry! I am so glad you're here. My name is Dr. Rebecca Kass, and I am a board certified psychiatrist specializing in general and holistic mental health for adults and teens. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, I graduated as my high school’s valedictorian before earning a bachelor’s in creative writing and chemistry from Eckerd College. I completed medical school under a merit-based scholarship at USF Morsani College of Medicine and psychiatric residency at the University of New Mexico. I have additional training in psychedelic-assisted therapies and Integrative Medicine. Now an outpatient psychiatrist in Boulder, Colorado, I specialize in young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, LGBTQIA+ issues and ADHD. I continue integrating nutritional, holistic and psychedelic psychiatry to support your whole health and natural wellbeing.
I work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression or have been through tough times and want to heal from trauma. College specifically can be a difficult time emotionally, moving into adulthood and living on your own for the first time. Therapy can be a great way to process these changes, learn new ways to cope with stress, and get resources and support. I'd love to chat.
Are you feeling stuck? Or perhaps anxiety, fear, other emotions, or memories are preventing you from being your true self? Asking for help can feel intimidating, and at the same time everyone needs help at some point in their life. I am glad you are starting this process. I am here to work together with you on your concerns, issues, or perhaps the much needed space of a listening ear. I find it can be difficult to vocalize our emotions, share our story, or be our true selves due to many underlying emotions.
My expertise is in helping people change how they feel or behave using evidence-based therapy and guidance. I focus on building a trusting relationship in which you feel open to discuss and work on whatever aspects of your life that you are hoping to change. People tell me they quickly feel at ease talking with me. Together we assess what feelings, thoughts or behaviors you would like to change or feel differently about or how you would like a relationship to be different. We make goals together to guide this process. I then guide you on how to make these changes, sustain them, and assess when you have attained them.

I will meet you with a nonjudgemental, accepting, and collaborative perspective to walk alongside you through the hard stuff. Hi! I am a licensed psychologist providing individual video teletherapy sessions in Colorado. I specialize in working with those coping with trauma recovery (this could be past abuse or processing a recent painful experience), chronic medical conditions, grief and loss, and disordered eating concerns. I have had several years experience working with college students, and I know balancing your life can be really tough at this time. I work with students who have marginalized identities (e.g., BIPOC, female students) navigating the social, systemic, and personal maze of this world. I approach therapy genuinely and compassionately, and work to empower and validate my clients. Therapy is truly all about fit, so if you feel like I may be able to support you, please visit my website or contact me directly!
How are you doing right now? And what do you need? Maybe you know exactly; maybe you need some help to figure that out as you adjust to college life or deal with other stressors you might be experiencing right now. Either way, I really want to acknowledge your courage in seeking support. I offer a compassionate space to work through anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, grief, trauma, and relationship issues, to transition through stages of life, or to make meaning out of tough things you have been through along the way. Services are available to anyone in Colorado. And, as a longtime climber and backcountry splitboarder, I also offer empathetic support for the unique needs of the mountain sports, outdoor recreation, and SAR communities. In our sessions, my role will be to help you identify and soothe underlying emotional wounding beneath problematic coping mechanisms that can form due to painful experiences, relationship difficulties, or other trauma. For relationships, I serve as a guide to help partners build trust and understanding by learning how to feel more secure with one another. Depending on your needs, we can use elements of traditional talk therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, nature-based methods, CBT, and more. I offer a balance of supportive listening, gentle challenging, and tools for managing difficult feelings. And, throughout our work together, I will always invite you to collaborate on goals, methods we use, and next steps. TO SCHEDULE A FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION... If it seems like I could be a fit for you, send me an email or leave me a voicemail with your name, number, a little bit about the support you might be seeking, and some times you might be available. And, I'll get back to you to set up a time to chat soon.
In 2015, I began my own therapy journey, and it truly transformed my life. Understanding myself better and gaining awareness of why I respond the way I do gave me a sense of control and empowerment that I had never experienced before. For the first time, I realized that I could change how I show up in my daily life, how I respond to challenges, and how I engage in relationships. This profound experience inspired me to pursue a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, so I could help others feel the same sense of empowerment and growth. I prioritize creating a space where my clients feel heard, seen, and validated. When they're ready, I gently challenge them to increase their self-awareness, shift their perspectives, and focus on what they can control. My approach is rooted in compassion and understanding, and I use a combination of person-centered therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help my clients process trauma, manage anxiety, and build healthier thought patterns.
Starting or navigating college is a massive transition, and it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed. Many of the students I work with find themselves feeling stuck, exhausted, or constantly bracing for the next deadline. You might be a good fit for my practice if you recognize yourself in any of these experiences: The Anxiety Loop: Your mind won't shut off, you're constantly overthinking social interactions, or you feel a paralyzing pressure to be perfect. The Weight of Depression: You’re feeling drained, losing interest in things you used to enjoy, or finding it incredibly hard to just get out of bed and attend class. The ADHD Hurdle: You want to succeed, but staying organized, focusing on lectures, and overcoming procrastination feel like an uphill battle every single day. In our sessions, you don’t have to pretend you have it all together. There is no judgment here. Together, we will figure out what’s draining your energy and build practical, real-world strategies to help you manage stress, regain your focus, and actually enjoy your college experience. You don't have to carry this alone—let's take it one step at a time.
Whether you are struggling with perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, can't get over your last relationship, or just don't know if you want to keep going at all...I'm here to help. I struggled mentally throughout my late teens and early twenties; carrying around a lot of shame, self-doubt, and difficulty understanding why it appeared so much easier for everyone else. As a therapist, I am here to listen--not just to your stories, but for the swells of deep feeling that can lead to healing. Together, we will uncover your false beliefs that may be causing unneeded suffering and learn to trust your inner voice as a guide and companion.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will support your growth with honesty, compassion, and genuine care, you’re in the right place. I work with clients who are ready to make meaningful changes and who want someone to walk alongside them—not just in session, but in the work that happens between sessions too. My approach is grounded in meeting you exactly where you are and collaborating to find solutions that fit your life. I help individuals navigate depression, anxiety, negative self‑talk, and challenges with self‑image, and I specialize in mental health and trauma. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I draw from evidence‑based modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work with adolescents through adults and strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered. Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. I would be honored to support you on your healing journey. Let’s start with a free fifteen‑minute introductory call to see how we can work together.
You’re feeling stuck and you are so ready to make progress, but you’re questioning every decision. You hear people talk about “inner knowing” but you are so disconnected that it feels like your compass is broken, and you have no idea which way to go, or how to get there, or where “there” is. Feeling stuck, confused, unsure how to move forward - these can be related to anxiety and depression, or they can be the symptoms of going through big life transitions. Or both. If you find yourself scrolling through social media, numbing out with Netflix, waking up dreading the day, or just feeling a bit lost — I’m here for you. My therapeutic style is non-judgemental, but also honest. With your permission, I will brainstorm with you, make suggestions and offer guidance. I won’t give you my answers as if they are the only right ones. The answers are inside you. My job is to help you bring them to the surface. My specialty is in helping you to get in touch with your inner knowing so you can navigate life transitions with clarity and confidence, move through grief, process trauma, get a grip on overwhelm and anxiety, and find the best way to move forward. I can’t wait to meet you.

Hi! My main goal is always to help my clients to help themselves, so you feel empowered to embrace stress and change as it comes. With experience working in an eating disorder hospital and 7 years working as a therapist in the Athletic Depts at UT Austin and CU Boulder, I've been involved with supporting my clients through the life challenges that high schoolers, young adults, and adults face for my entire professional career. I am EMDR certified and use this to treat trauma, eating disorders, chronic pain, urges in addiction/EDs, and sport performance (both positive reinforcement as well as treating mental blocks). I particularly enjoy teaching tools for navigating anxiety and depressive symptoms, helping to make peace with body image, and supporting mental performance for sport. I also have a passion for supporting perfectionists to expand their view of themselves and learn to release a little of the control that is actually controlling them!
