Therapists for college students near Chicago, IL
Reaching out for help can be difficult and the thought of seeing a therapist can seem intimidating. I believe that with the right therapist, you can express yourself freely without fear of judgement and receive the support you need and desire. No two people's journey and life experiences are the same, so I take an individualized approach with my clients. I love helping clients feel their feelings, address their anxiety and fear of failure, and feel empowered to grow and change habits. I specialize in aiding clients with managing relationship challenges, developing better routines, managing their emotions, and implementing boundaries. I utilize values, humor, and compassion so we can build an authentic, therapeutic relationship to make changes. In sessions, I will often bring us back to the present moment to build awareness and identify old patterns of behaviors so we can create new habits. I strive to provide a welcoming environment that will support your unique development of self-awareness, vulnerability, and growth. Together, we will identify your goals for treatment and work towards those in a collaborative process. I value feedback so I can ensure your goals and voice are at the heart of our work. I look forward to our journey together!
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois with over 10 years of professional experience as a non profit leader and clinician providing direct services to a diverse population. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression; anxiety; trauma/abuse; adverse child experiences; gender and sexual identity and coming out; and substance use issues. I have received advanced training in evidenced based practices including completing two 40 training modules to work with sexual abuse and assault survivors and survivors of domestic violence. My counseling style is adapted to the needs of the individual that I am working with. I often use a cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based approach within a trauma-informed and harm reduction framework to help the client I am working with achieve their goals. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay!

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but it shouldn’t have to. I believe in meeting people wherever they are in their journey and working together to build a path toward wellness. Pari Health & Wellness approaches therapy through a collaborative & client-centered lens. I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. Drawing from evidence-based practices such as mindfulness and CBT, I’m committed to transparency—not just in thought, but in dismantling the cognitive barriers between who you’re taught to be and who you truly are. I work with you to identify goals and build coping strategies while fostering this meaningful change. I integrate solution-focused, holistic techniques to help you develop self-awareness, resilience, and tools for navigating life’s challenges. Whether you’re addressing anxiety, depression, grief, child sexual abuse, or personal growth, my focus is on empowering your transformation at your pace.
Do you struggle with feeling guilty after eating certain foods? Have you tried diet after diet hoping that the next one will finally stick? Do you feel obsessed with food and what your body looks like? Is overeating and binge eating common for you and/or do you struggle with restriction? Do you base your worth on the number you see on the scale? Are you hoping to finally stop calorie counting and learn how to eat intuitively? If any of these questions sound familiar, you are in the right place! While working with me, you will learn how to: build meals and snacks that are both physically AND emotionally satisfying, build trust with your body again (or maybe for the first time), decrease binges and/or guilt experienced with certain foods, and gain freedom once and for all from obsessive feelings about food/body image!
College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Between classes, relationships, family, and figuring out your future, it’s easy to feel stressed or stuck. Therapy can be a space to sort through all of that. My approach is collaborative and flexible—I want you to feel comfortable showing up just as you are. I use evidence-based tools, but more than anything, I listen and help you find what feels supportive and meaningful for you. You don’t have to go through things alone. Reaching out for therapy is a powerful act of self-care, and together we can work toward balance, growth, and emotional freedom.
Great to meet you! My name is Kyle and I have been in the field of for many years and graduated with my MA degree in 2011. Some of my specializations and interest areas include EMDR, PTSD, social anxiety, career counseling, and couple's counseling (Gottman Method). When I am not counseling, some of my interests include playing guitar, comic book movies,diet/nutrition and exercise. A bit about my approach to therapy: I utilize an integrative approach when working with my clients with a particular emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral and Existential Therapy. While I believe that it is important to help clients alter their perceptions that surround their upsets, I also believe that it is essential to assist clients in finding meaning in life and taking responsibility for one's choices. I believe that these factors together play an integral role in the promotion of mental and emotional well-being. What you can expect from our first session: I try to be as collaborative as possible with clients. I want to work together toward your specific goals instead of telling you what to do. I also try to keep a calm and relaxed environment in session as well as incorporate humor when possible
Hi, I’m Danielle, and I help people who are struggling with depression and anxiety find their way back to feeling like themselves again. Life can get heavy sometimes—maybe you’re feeling constantly overwhelmed, stuck in negative thoughts, or just tired of pretending you’re okay when you’re not. I get how exhausting that can be. In our work together, my goal is to create a space where you can be real—no pressure, no judgment. We’ll talk through what’s weighing on you, explore where those feelings come from, and find tools that actually work for you. Whether it’s learning how to quiet that inner critic, manage anxiety in the moment, or just start feeling more like you again. We’ll take it one step at a time, together. You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here to support you in a way that feels honest, empowering, and genuinely helpful.

Read more about our mission and philosophy on our website! We really look forward to hearing from you and potentially working with you. There are many ways we learn to cope with hurt, stress, and loss and, given our past experiences and upbringing, these ways can often involve avoidance – wanting to escape or numb the pain. This may look like excessive screen use, emotional eating, self-medicating, isolating, self-harm, etc. If you’re noticing that what helped you get by until now no longer works, if it’s impacting your ability to show up in your life and engage with the things you care about most, then I want to be your ally and support you through the process of change. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and warm. In each session I prioritize creating a safe space for you to explore what brings you into therapy while providing a constructive environment, utilizing evidence-based approaches, to help you learn healthier coping strategies and facilitate the change you want to make. I want you to know that you are not alone and asking for help is an act of courage. I want to hear your story and have the privilege to accompany you on your journey of self-exploration, healing, and growth. To quote Brené Brown, “Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”

I also have experience exploring gender and sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, problematic eating patterns, and sexual/relational trauma. I am honored to work with individuals holding many identities, backgrounds, and life experiences. I especially enjoy working with students, creative minds, or anyone trying to untangle the meaning of life. If you think we may be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out and look forward to hearing from you.
Feeling like you've been stuck in a hole and can't tell up from down. Maybe you keep telling yourself you cant feel better. Therapy is not about "fixing you." You're not broken. Therapy is a way for one to become a better version of yourself while taking the steps to live a more fulfilling and authentic life. A collaborative approach will help you feel therapy isn’t a one sided relationship because we will walk side by side together. You will be able to make the necessary changes to have a life worth living, while learning to accept yourself the way you are. I believe that we make the best decisions we knew how to make with the information we have and its our job to learn from it. I place a high value on the therapeutic relationship through a warm and inviting atmosphere. I hope we are a good fit and I look forward to meeting you!
