Are you trying to find the balance between academics and personal life? Stressed? Life transitions? Relationship Issues? etc. I have 35+ years of Clinical Experience and have worked with many Graduate Students. * psychologytoday, and good therapy
I help folks get unstuck by using strategies and conserving their energy as best they can. Sometimes all the insight in the world doesn't change your life. I use various behavior therapies so we can understand how and why you tick AND come up with tangible steps towards the life you’ve always wanted. Virtual evening skills groups! I offer virtual DBT skills groups for adults including: young adults, mixed ages and all genders, women only and men only. Generally the folks I work with struggle with high sensitivity, perfectionism, and mild/moderate depression and anxiety symptoms. Most of the folks I work with use the psychoeducational group to enhance the individual healing work they are already doing. The group adds structure and accountability to practicing evidence based coping strategies to better manage moods, identify triggers, improve relationships/communication and overall stress management techniques.
Virtual Therapy for students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, international students, third-culture kids, and anyone who’s ever felt like they don’t fully belong. On the outside, you might look like you’ve got it together. Inside, it feels different: - Racing thoughts that won’t stop - Tension in your body and exhaustion you can’t shake - Sleep struggles—restless nights or oversleeping to escape - Eating out of sync—skipping meals, stress eating, or feeling disconnected from hunger cues - Mood swings, irritability, or emotional flatness - School, friendships, romantic relationships, and even self-care feel overwhelming - Isolating when you actually crave connection ✨ This isn’t just “stress.” Often, it’s unprocessed trauma—from childhood, cultural pressure, identity struggles, or painful past experiences—that quietly fuels anxiety, depression, and feeling stuck. My approach: - Not quick fixes or endless coping skills - Trauma-informed and holistic therapy - Tools like Brainspotting + somatic therapy to help your nervous system heal, not just your thoughts - A space to uncover the root of what’s keeping you stuck and move toward lasting change What you can expect: - Feeling more grounded, present, and connected—to yourself, your community, and your future - Support from someone who gets it: as an Asian clinician and former international student, I understand the challenges of navigating multiple cultures and expectations - A space where you don’t have to over-explain—you can show up fully, take up space, and finally feel seen

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Newton MA with over 25 years of experience helping people who are experiencing issues such as stress, anxiety, OCD, and depression. I help people to learn skills that will enable them to challenge negative thinking, approach avoided situations, manage stress, and achieve their goals. I am a Research Associate Professor of Psychology at Boston University where I direct the Behavioral Medicine Program at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. Having worked in academics for all of my career, I am well aware of the various types of pressures that students can experience as they strive to succeed.
Welcome! I'm a therapist who helps college/graduate students and young professionals move from feeling anxious, stuck and unsure to secure, at ease, and fulfilled. Thank you so much for taking a look at my profile. I have been in private practice since 2011 and prior to that primarily worked in university counseling centers with both college age clients as well as older adults. While I use cognitive behavioral treatment strategies to help clients manage what brings them into treatment, I also find that it can be helpful to explore where certain thoughts or feelings come from to create a deeper understanding and hopefully ultimately minimize unwanted feelings or symptoms. I provide a free 5-10 minute initial consultation over the phone to make sure this seems like a good match and our schedules align. Please feel free to reach out by phone or email, with email being checked more regularly. I look forward to working with you!
Everyone experiences distressing or overwhelming challenges at different points in life. Many people struggle to manage these inevitable difficulties, get stuck and then subsequently feel defined by their emotional pain. This can negatively impact relationships, ambitions, work and self-worth. I believe in people’s inherent right to live meaningful and joyful lives and in their ability to choose how to respond to life’s challenges. I support my clients through their courageous process of self-exploration and self-compassion. My therapeutic approach involves treating people as a whole: mind, body & spirit. This allows people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and with the support of an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, my clients are able to make the changes they want. My areas of specialty include trauma, addictions, depression and anxiety disorders. I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained. EMDR is recognized as a highly effective trauma treatment and allows people to heal from emotional pain that has stemmed from distressing life experiences. “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional” H.M.

Great to meet you! In my work as a therapist, I have had the privilege of working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating a wide range of mental health challenges. My approach is grounded in building therapeutic relationships based in affirming care and empathy. I strive to create a warm, relatable environment that allows people to be grow, laugh, cry (sometimes), and feel safe to peel back their own layers and explore themselves. A bit about my approach to therapy: When providing therapy services, I always take a relational approach with the folks I am serving. I think it is important that people feel comfortable, heard, and like they are talking to another person as opposed to a robot. What you can expect from our first session: During our first session, we will talk about what has brought you to therapy, what previous mental health treatment you have had if any, and what you hope therapy can do for you.
My practice provides a safe and caring space where meaningful change is possible. The solution-focused services are tailored to meet the individual needs of my clients. I draw from a variety of theoretical orientations and am skilled at using cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and relational treatment approaches.
