I am passionate about supporting individuals, children, and families who are ready to create healthier dynamics but aren’t sure where to start. I have worked with clients through various mental health concerns, such as trauma, grief, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, or identity exploration. I strive to create a safe, warm, and mutually respectful environment for my clients to engage in self-exploration and break painful cycles. Using attachment-based, culturally informed strategies based on your own unique strengths, we will work together to develop healthier communication patterns, feel deeply supported, and confidently move forward. I integrate Humanistic, Relational, and Psychodynamic perspectives to offer treatment that is deeply informed by your unique experiences. Specializing in family conflict, trauma, anxiety, and neurodiversity, I use attachment-based strategies to help you feel empowered. We will work collaboratively so you and your family feel truly heard. Beginning therapy is often a challenging process to go through, let alone begin, and it takes real courage. You don't have to carry stress, grief, or trauma alone. I am dedicated to building a safe, collaborative space where you feel genuinely empowered to achieve your self-identified goals. Whenever you are ready, please reach out.

I am experienced in working with adults that are dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationship issues, and life transitional stress. I believe that everyone has the strength to dig deeper into their psyche and understand themselves better. I recognize how different environmental factors can induce feelings of loneliness, and I can help provide a space that feels open, non-judgmental, and safe for all kinds of expression. My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I integrate various behavioral and mindfulness based interventions in my practice, tailoring my style to best meet my clients’ needs. Through humor and introspective conversations, I believe in building a genuine connection that propels healing and growth. As an immigrant and a woman of color, I recognize that mental health stigma can limit asking for help. I ensure a culturally competent lens and hope we can work together on this journey of finding that inner strength and wisdom.

I'm a Boston-based therapist who works with young adults and adolescents. I specialize in treating trauma and all the stuff that comes with it- bad moods, anxiety, explosive anger, poor self-esteem, sadness- you name it. I teach people skills to help them feel better in the moment while guiding them on a path of long-term healing. I'm certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and also trained with the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis. I meet with people both in-person and virtually, and I speak English and Spanish. My approach to therapy is guided by what my clients are looking for and needing most. Therapy can- and should- be tailored to your styles of communication and expression. Maybe this means you'd like a lot of structure in your sessions- using worksheets to track and review anxious thought patterns. It could mean that you'd prefer open-ended sessions to explore deeper themes that've started popping up in your life. Or perhaps you're looking for a safe space to talk about something bad that's happened. I build a safe and productive space for us to work within, whatever the case may be.

Beginning therapy is a brave act of self-care, and working with an effective clinician can provide you the support you deserve in bringing about powerful changes in your life and relationships. I believe you have the skills and strengths necessary to overcome the obstacles you face and I cannot wait to join you on the journey. I am passionate about my work with adults navigating life transitions and exploring what they need to live as their most authentic selves. I specialize in burnout and the impact of past trauma on current relationships. I have experience working with survivors of sexual and family violence as well as those struggling with anxiety and attachment issues. I believe in culturally-competent and trauma-informed care and utilized an eclectic therapeutic approach with a focus on Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Relational Therapy. Fostering an inclusive and affirming environment for all of my clients, I work collaboratively with you to develop evidenced-based treatment plans that validate your lived experiences and encourages growth. When people come to treatment with problems, it is important to remember that they are trying to cope with them in the best way they can. With that in mind, I offer a reflective and engaging partnership with my clients, working toward the goal of helping them to be autonomous, authentic and compassionate in a world that can be extremely stressful. Although my work is solidly grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive/learning, and systems theories, my approach is client-centered, practical and strengths-based. I bring honesty, warmth, and humor to the therapy relationship. I am LGBTQ affirmative and invested in doing cross-cultural therapy which is culturally sensitive. I have a dog, Bracket, who works with me, and I have been doing AAT since 2002. There is a growing body of research which suggests that AAT (Animal-Assisted Therapy) can be helpful with a range of diagnoses, including Depression, PTSD, and Autistic Spectrum. Many therapists know little about online games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life. They may dismiss it as unimportant, or assume it is a problem. I am a gamer-affirmative therapist, meaning I’m more interested in understanding your in-world experience and activity than pathologizing it.

I strive to help clients understand their emotional conflicts, behavioral repetitions, and their inner-self by empathetically assisting them in working through emotional difficulties and life struggles. I have loved working with students since 1987. The process of discovering one’s authentic self can be exhilarating and the rewards are exponential. My approach focuses on strengths, augmenting the health that is already present. Learning how to see one’s self (and the world) in this way is a courageous and creative process. By recognizing patterns in relating — to one’s self and others— there’s a clearer sense of what’s precious to you, what gets in the way, and how you can realistically be your best self. While I have experience with the whole range of human problems, I work well with folks who enjoy being playful and creative. I think laughing together in therapy is essential, for many reasons. My formal training is in intensive individual and family therapy specializing in trauma and adolescence. From 1994-2000 I ran the trauma service and psychology training on the adolescent unit at McLean Hospital, teaching and training Harvard residents and post-docs. I am psychoanalytically trained (PhD from University of Michigan, and I’m a graduate of Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute), but I have a deep appreciation for mind-body holistic health, I have also been a professional dancer and artist— which is probably why I favor creativity as the best coping strategy. You should probably know my dog is my co-pilot. Lucky, my goldendoodle, works with me and really loves his job, but if you'd rather we work alone that's ok too.
