Therapists for college students near 02155
College can feel like a mix of excitement and pressure all at once. Between academics, relationships, figuring out who you are, and trying to keep up with everything, it’s really easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or like you’re just barely holding it together. In therapy, I try to create a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. We slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and work together to find ways to feel more grounded and more like yourself again. I really believe people already have strengths in them, even if it doesn’t feel accessible in the moment. My job is to help you reconnect with those strengths and figure out how to use them in real life, especially during stressful or confusing seasons. I work with college students and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, and big life transitions. I use approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and body-based (somatic) work to help you understand what you’re feeling and actually shift it in a practical, supportive way. My fee for a 50-minute session is $180. I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots ($90–$100) to help make therapy more accessible.
Therapy enables us to heal ourselves and sharpen access to our wisest intuition. As your therapist, I will provide a comfortable space for self-reflection, where you will come to understand yourself at the deepest level. In our work together, you will learn to nurture yourself as you build inner strength and serenity. I’ve worked in community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and private practice. Driven by curiosity, empathy, and integrity, my approach is built on the belief that every person is capable of growth. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling seen and understood, and to end therapy as your most authentic self. Though there is always darkness in life, I believe light can be found by those who want to see it. I am not afraid of the dark. Bring me your darkness—your pain, your confusion, your hurt—and we will walk together as you find your guiding lights.

Welcome! Working with a diverse population for many years widen my appreciation toward everyone I encounter in the therapy room. My new clients often ask me, “What is your approach or therapy model?” Learning from years valuable experience, I do not take a blueprint or “one-size-fits-all” approach for clients. Every client has an individualized curriculum. You may be feeling distressed, facing difficulties in your personal or professional relationships, contemplating a major life transition, or navigating a health crisis. No matter what challenge brings, I will help you in resolving conflicts and strengthening your relationships. I will explore your options in a collaborative way while taking into consideration the hopes, expectations, values, and preferences that are significant to you. Using clinical sophistication and expertise I incorporate humility, kindness, and passion to create a caring environment. My life experience encompasses living in the Eastern hemisphere and Western hemisphere; also working in East coast and West coast of the U.S. It enriches me to carefully examine things in different angles and not “boxing people in” with narrowly defined categories. I also provide supervision for all learning stages. I look forward to meeting you!

At Atlantic Behavioral Health in Wilmington, we’re here for college students from nearby towns—like Middlesex Community College in Bedford, Salem State commuters from Woburn, Endicott College students in Burlington, or Merrimack College folks just a few towns over in North Andover—who are grinding through school but wrestling with mental health hurdles. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for students like you—maybe you’re a Merrimack undergrad swamped by stress from late-night study sessions, or a commuter juggling classes and work but feeling crushed by anxiety that’s tanking your focus. We connect best with those pushing hard but struggling with things like low moods, constant worry, or even gambling habits that started as a distraction but took over. We’re a perfect match for students ready to face feeling off—whether it’s skipping hangouts because you’re drained, reeling from a rough grade or family chaos, or just wanting to clear the mental fog—without putting college on pause. Our clients usually want to get back in the driver’s seat—nailing that group project, chilling with friends, or enjoying a weekend without overanalyzing everything. Right off Route 93, we’re a quick drive from Billerica, Tewksbury, or Andover, and we’re super flexible with morning, afternoon, and evening IOP sessions. Got daytime classes? Our evening sessions let you stay on top of school while getting support after hours. Whether you’re the over-thinker who’s spiraling, the risk-taker who’s lost control of betting, or the quiet one hiding how hard it’s been, our IOP gives you a no-judgment space to sort it out with a team that gets the student hustle. With options to fit your life—morning for early risers, afternoon for mid-day breaks, or evening to keep your days free—we’re here to help you tackle your mental health and keep your college groove. Hi there! My name is Lucy and I am a psychotherapist with a MSW from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have experience providing therapy to emerging adult and adult clients in a community clinic at a university and a private practice. Before my master's, I worked with adolescents in a public high school. I have worked with clients with various presenting problems including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and more. Additionally, I have walked alongside and empowered clients as they navigate life transitions (such as the transition into college and out of college into the workplace), neurodiversity, relationship struggles, trauma, body image distress, self-worth issues, and more. I believe the client-therapist relationship is essential to the therapeutic process and work to cultivate a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental space for self-exploration. I meet my clients where they are and collaborate with them to set goals and treatment plans. To do so, I combine different modalities like CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy (SFBT), and more. I know therapy can be daunting, but it also presents opportunities to explore your feelings, challenge yourself, work through difficult situations, and even celebrate your growth! My goal is for all my clients to feel secure and seen, no matter if they have been to therapy before or this is their first time. I am excited to work with and get to know you!

I am a staff psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and faculty member at Harvard Medical School. I provide individual therapy for adults and have experience working with a wide variety of presenting concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma. My goal is to create a warm and genuinely accepting environment in order for you to feel comfortable collaborating with me to tackle your stressors together. I generally utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT), integrating other evidence-based theoretical orientations as needed to provide personalized treatment based on your needs and preferences. I prioritize using strengths-based, trauma-informed, multiculturally sensitive methodology. Effective therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist. Please reach out so I can support you on your journey. If I am not the right fit for you, I am happy to give you referrals so you can find the best therapist for you!
I am a therapist with over 30 years of experience working with teens and adults at all stages in life. My professional goal is to develop the highest quality relationship with each client, while using a variety of specific techniques that are tailored to each person's needs. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to be able to talk about difficult feelings and experiences, and come up with effective coping skills. Clients who come seeking help from me generally feel stuck in some area of their lives. They often feel depressed and anxious. They may be struggling at school, having problems in relationships, and may be trying to discover their place in the world. Through insight, thoughtful exploration, and a collaborative effort to identify and change problematic behaviors, my clients find relief from their symptoms, grow beyond the limitations they have felt restricted by, and experience a stronger sense of self in the world.
Accepting new patients.....It is through therapy that we come to understand how our experiences make our lives meaningful. Choosing a therapist isn't an easy task; I hope sharing my perspective helps. Over the last decade I have worked at universities, elementary schools, rehabilitation centers and group homes with children and adults from 7-70. These experiences have shown me that the right environment activates our innate capacity to mature and thrive. Therapy is not about "fixing" someone, it's about creating a space that supports growth. My approach embraces the power of personality to facilitate change. Through active listening, I acknowledge the impact of personal experiences and encourage exploration. Like exercising - regular, creative dialogue yields new strengths and abilities. In this way, individuals find their own solutions that are often more personalized than CBT. As you search for a therapist, consider me - I think you'll find me accessible, pragmatic, and insightful.
I bring over 25 years of experience supporting young adults through major life transitions, mental health challenges, and the everyday complexities of college life. For nearly two decades, I’ve worked at Boston College as an Associate Dean and instructor, helping students navigate academic pressure, identity development, and moments of uncertainty with compassion and clarity. I also understand the university system deeply, which allows me to help students who are coping with mental health challenges access campus supports while we work together on their therapeutic goals. My clinical work is grounded in evidence‑based, trauma‑informed approaches and a strong belief in students’ resilience. Sessions are thoughtful, personalized, and goal oriented. In our work together, I will create a space where you can understand what you’re experiencing, build on your strengths, and move through college with greater clarity and support.
