My name is Patricia Mathison, and I am originally from Venezuela. I studied my Bachelor's degree in Venezuela and finished my Master's degree in Counseling and Psychology at Lesley University. I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and parents. I have experience working with people with developmental disorders such as ADHD and Neurological conditions. Sometimes problems have a way of getting so big that people feel their problems are their identity. I will work with you to challenge that idea, and get space from what is bothering you. I help clients explore what they’ve heard about how people are “supposed to be.” I work to help clients figure out where these stories come from, and how these ideas affect them. I work collaboratively to help clients determine how these dominant stories intersect with their own hopes and preferences, so that clients can actively re-create their stories in ways that better fit their values.
