I provide daytime virtual appointments and work with young adults who are struggling with anxiety and depression, and co-occurring, diagnoses. Most feel overwhelmed, stressed, or isolated. Many struggle with difficulties adjusting to college life. Some are navigating personal and familial expectations, some are far from home, are facing interpersonal challenges, financial concerns, or are caught up in the graduate grind. The pressures are mounting-even parking is stressful in Boston. There is a lot going on at the moment. You don’t have to navigate this alone. My goal is to welcome you to a warm, supportive space where you feel safe to be yourself and speak openly. Together, we’ll slow things down and take a look at what you’re going through. We'll build perspective, and identify manageable goals, and take steps towards meaningful changes that align with your values. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you. Many of the students I work best with are unsure about medication—or have tried it before and didn’t get the results they hoped for. You might feel hesitant about starting something new, worried about side effects, or unsure if medication is even the right step for you. Some students come in after a frustrating experience, where a medication didn’t help, caused unwanted effects, or just didn’t feel like a good fit. Others have been trying to manage things on their own but are starting to feel stuck with anxiety, low mood, or ongoing stress. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and focused on helping you make informed decisions. Medication is always a choice, not an expectation. We take time to understand what’s been going on, what hasn’t worked in the past, and what your options are moving forward. If medication is part of the plan, we approach it carefully and adjust based on how you actually feel—not just a checklist. Alongside medication management, I provide clear education and brief supportive therapy so you understand what’s happening and have practical ways to cope day-to-day. Ana welcomes students ages 18 and older of all backgrounds and all identities including LGBTQIA+ to feel supported in individual therapy. She uses a trauma-informed approach and specializes in using mindfulness, meditation, yoga, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). Charlotte Smalls is a highly experienced Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than 10 years of experience in her field. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Simmons University and a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Throughout her career, Charlotte has worked primarily in the juvenile justice field in various roles, such as caseworker, and clinical director. She has also previously worked as a private practice clinician, providing therapy to clients and supervising many other clinicians who were working towards independent licensure. Charlotte utilizes various treatment modalities including solution-focused and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to meet clients’ needs. Her focus is on providing a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment. Dr. Brieger is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist based in Boston, MA. She is passionate about getting to know her patients’ unique backgrounds and working together to develop plans that are both evidence-based and practical. Her clinical interests include adolescents, young adults, and women’s mental health, as well as mood, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Dr. Brieger offers medication management, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and combined medication management and therapy. She received her MD and PhD from the University of Michigan Medical School and School of Public Health before completing residency training in Adult Psychiatry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School. Currently, she is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital.
