Are you new to therapy, have you tried it before without finding the right fit, or perhaps you are looking for a new approach? My name is Gus Culbertson (he/him/his) and I am a Clinical Social Worker. I started Balancing Perspectives Practice because I believe that when we take an intentional look at the perspectives we hold about ourselves and the world around us, and then make this into a practice, it can allow us to lean into our most authentic and balanced selves. I am here to support clients in finding a good-fit therapist. I have worked for a number of years to understand the unique challenges faced by young adults, medical and health science students & professionals, and front-line workers. I also work with individuals navigating life transitions, unhelpful self-expectations, procrastination, depression, anxiety, and identity struggles. Many of those I work with want to learn how to engage intentionally with the range of emotions, communicate effectively with others, decrease stress, incorporate mindful/spiritual practices, and explore differing perspectives. I am a firm believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. My approach is tailored to each client and is rooted in a values-based, emotion-focused, and mindful practice. If you are ready to begin this journey, please contact me for a free consultation. I initially work with clients to outline their goals in care to see if we might be a good fit to work together in individual therapy. If we are, I look forward to working together to help you recognize your strengths, build resilience, and cultivate authenticity to find the fulfillment you deserve. If, for whatever reason we are not, I can support you in finding the right fit through my services as a Clinical Care Manager. This is of note if you would like assistance in finding a therapist who is in-network with your insurance.

I am a licensed professional counselor dedicated to supporting college students through their unique journeys. I offer a warm, open, and accepting space where all parts of who you are are valued. Let’s navigate this journey together.
Specialties: Anxiety, Autism, Psychosis, life transitions. Telehealth only for individuals who have PacificSource Health ins. My therapeutic philosophy is that it is very possible, with the right kind of support, to recover from most mental health and life challenges. Let’s have a discussion about what you want to achieve, and we can come up with a plan that will help you live your best life. I treat the people I work with as "people first," rather than labels, cases, or subjects. Since I have been involved with healing work, the definitions for "disorders" has continually changed. Because I believe in the absolute and intrinsic beauty and worth of human beings, I'm more likely to frame something as a challenge or a difficulty than as disorder. One of the nicest things about having been involved in this work for so long is that I've had the privilege to watch people change profoundly when they get the support and encouragement they need. If you work with me, we will spend time reframing whatever "disorder" you believe you have to make your work more precise.
Hello! In my practice, I work with female identifying clients ages 18-60 either on line or in person in Corvallis, Oregon. My work integrates contemplative, relational, depth, mindfulness-based, and somatic (body-oriented) approaches to healing and growth. My practice is most influenced by Somatic Experiencing (SE), a naturalistic and interdisciplinary approach to healing I would be delighted to tell you more about. If you are looking for support in your healing journey, want to restore balance to your nervous system, emotions and relationships, and if a somatic approach is something you are curious about, I encourage you to jump onto my website, inner room (dot) net, and use my Online Booking system to schedule a free initial consultation.

Gathered & Wise exists to provide excellent and experienced perinatal and maternal mental health care. We believe that a well-supported mother has a tremendous positive impact on her children and her community. We also believe women deserve wellness due to their own intrinsic worth; not based on what roles they hold, or what they can contribute to others. It is our hope and intention to create a warm environment where both clients and therapists feel respected, supported, and are given the tools they need to thrive.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or like something just isn’t right inside—even if you can’t explain why? You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I’m a trauma therapist who understands what it’s like to feel broken, lost, or stuck after going through tough experiences—whether that’s childhood trauma, bullying, abuse, or just the weight of everyday pressure and expectations. I’ve been there myself, and I know healing is absolutely possible. If you’re struggling with anxiety, anger, depression, PTSD, or even feeling disconnected from who you really are, I offer a safe space to unpack what’s going on—and begin to heal. I specialize in helping students like you who are trying to balance life, emotions, school, relationships, and maybe even past pain that hasn’t been fully processed yet. My approach is focused on helping you get results, not just vent. We’ll explore what matters to you—your values, goals, strengths—and figure out how to start building the life you want. I also offer energy healing and spiritual guidance if you’re open to deeper, more holistic support (but only if that resonates with you—this space is always about you, not my agenda). If you’re ready to feel supported, heard, and guided toward real change, I’m here. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to take that first step.

I see my role as a therapist as a sacred privilege to journey along side of a person toward true and lasting change. I bring a holistic, strengths-based approach to our work together. I believe that the client-therapist relationship involves ongoing collaboration to ensure mutual understanding and progress. I help folks ages 18+ in NY, CT, OR, and FL who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. I am a compassionate and nonjudgmental therapist who prioritizes creating a space in which my clients feel “held,” heard, and helped. My approach is personalized, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. My practice is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and utilizes a range of techniques including awareness of sensations in the body, narrative interventions, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal and that meaningful transformations take place in the context of safe and supportive relationships, when we feel seen, understood, and accepted unconditionally. Together, we will process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to reduce suffering and increase joy, fulfillment, and success. The bottom line: I meet you where you are—with patience, warmth, kindness, and insight. I will assist in identifying and strengthening your own inner resources and wisdom, so we can work more effectively with challenges and pain on the road to a more satisfying life. You don’t have to do this alone.
I have spent the last 6 years working with young adults in the community. Many are in a new place and dealing with transition in their lives. Living far away from home and having to "adult" can be overwhelming. Figuring out what you want to do after college can also be stressful. I would help to provide support during times. I am a playful therapist that has a genuine, person centered approach. I am not a blank faced therapist. I believe that the biggest intervention is the therapeutic alliance that is created between the therapist and client. Building trust, being approachable and connecting with my client's, these things are very important to me. I have lived experience of walking through this community as a Black queer women; this experience helps me connect and build rapport with BIPOC and queer folx. I have experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis and pre psychotic symptoms. I love supporting people with creating healthy relationships and boundaries, working on assertive and healthy communication. Please check out my website, there you can schedule a free 15 consultation. I would love to meet you to see if we would be a good fit!

Trauma can be an invisible wound that can affect many parts of our lives we don’t even realize. I work with clients with depression, anxiety, adoption triad concerns, and trauma-related issues. Change can be hard. Having the courage to reach out and discuss your inner pain and anxiety is the first step. I want to help you work through your past painful experiences, feelings of shame, and traumatic events so that you can create a new life path. I believe each person has their own pace, and am willing to find therapies and strategies that work for you. My approach is open-minded, trauma-based, cognitive, and holistic. I started my career in psychology and counseling when I experienced a suicide in my family. It gave me the courage to make changes for myself, and help people around me who were also suffering grief, loss, and depression. I’m an advocate of mental health issues, a proud adoptee, and a supporter of the arts. **I only accept insurance in the state of North Carolina**
