Therapists for college students near Portland State University
I specialize in supporting adults with anxiety, OCD, and trauma. I take a collaborative approach to therapy that incorporates individuality and the wisdom clients have about themselves, along with evidence-based approaches. I view my role as walking alongside you in your therapy journey to provide support in setting and accomplishing goals that are aligned with your values. I worked in 3 college counseling centers prior to working in private practice. As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, I particularly enjoy working with individuals also in these communities.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, working through a major life transition, or are simply looking for extra support, you’ve taken an important first step by looking into therapy. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to help you navigate challenges, strengthen coping skills, and move towards greater well-being. You deserve care that meets you where you are, and I’m here to support you. As a mixed therapist, with White (Italian & Irish) and Indigenous (Mi'kmaq) ancestors, I know how hard it can be to find time for self growth and care while navigating oppressive systems. It can be even harder when we don't fit in a binary or see ourselves reflected in the spaces we live, work, or learn. I value cultivating a safe container for folks to bring all parts of themselves to, as I believe that it is in this space of truly relating as we are, that we may find the capacity for growth and change. I reserve a few sliding scale spots for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients who are committed to therapy, but are experiencing cost as a barrier to care. You feel alone, prioritize the needs of others, and wonder if things will change, asking: "What am I protecting? Who am I trying to be? What do I want?" Relationships (breakups, separation, dating, divorce) can bring up anxiety, regret, fear and self-judgment. These effect the relationship we have with ourselves. Resentments, anger, and guilt - toward others and within ourselves make us feel disconnected and alone. As a therapist, my aim is to help you reconnect with your SELF. Everyone is different. Our expectations and ideals are influenced by family history, surrounding cultural expectations, and unique experiences. Our therapy sessions help you develop tools to define relationships you want, conquer anxiety, past regrets, self doubt, negative self-image, and slowly dispose of the negative loud inner-monologue (which comes up frequently, when you are trying to navigate your road ahead.) I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist using Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) tools to develop a solid foundation of self - (via telehealth, online) in both Oregon and Washington State. Specialties: Individuals dealing with sleep issues/insomnia, difficulty with focus (ADHD); folks going through separation/divorce to develop purpose, motivation and intention; individuals in relationships cultivate/improve connection; single individuals build a sense of self (aligned with values) which can be applied toward dating and future relationships. __________________________________________ Interested in seeing if we connect? My work with clients is centered around helping people to find the balance in their life. We take time to get to know each each other and to set up the goals that are important to you. You chose the pace at which we move, while I offer suggestions and share observations. Our sessions will provide a safe space for you to share as much or as little as you like. Through discussion and exercises we can get you to feel joy again.
I love working with young people as they get to know themselves, embark on new opportunities, and grapple with difficult emotional and relational challenges. Sometimes people notice that unresolved grief or trauma comes up for them during a life transition and I am here to support. I offer a welcoming, non judgmental space to talk through what is coming up for you. Change and healing is hard and you shouldn't have to do it alone.
Relationships are vital to our health and well-being, yet few of us have been trained how to foster and maintain healthy ones. I support the development of healthy relationship skills by focusing on emotional expression, relational skill development, and personal empowerment. Rekindling the trust, emotional connection, and playful spark necessary for healthy relationship is a process of establishing mutual goals, building new skills of emotional intelligence and embodied communication while healing old wounds. We are always, already in relationship; whether it is a relationship to another person, place, or oneself, we are in some way connected and affected by our surroundings. As such, it is in relationship that our deepest hurts can take place, and it is also in relationship that our most profound and liberating healing can occur. As a therapist, I work side-by-side with you, and it is in our own relationship together that we explore and uncover your greatest strengths, as well as all the ways you may unconsciously hold yourself back. My specialties include working with adults recovering from trauma experienced as a child or an adult. I enjoy working with individuals who are stuck in relationship patterns and are looking to break these patterns. I have expertise working with college students of all ages and people struggling with life transitions. My office is safe and affirming no matter your race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical ability.
Are there old patterns stuck on repeat in your relationship that you’ve tried to change but can’t seem to? Is relationship stress or anxiety in general getting in the way of your feeling satisfied or in flow with your life? Maybe you feel invisible or unappreciated. Perhaps you feel a sense of powerlessness or frustration due to your boundaries being overstepped. You may have even stopped trying due to repeated failures trying to "fix" what isn't working. The truth is every now and then we need support from someone who has the knowledge, training, and personal experience to help you with something like this. I help clients heal and learn from old relationship wounds and improve their relationship with themselves and others. I help people get to the heart of the matter and go beyond learning and implementing coping skills. In this way we can get to know what is creating barriers to joy, calm, and flow in your relationships and in your life. Please note that addition to qualifications listed within this profile, I am a certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician. Whether working through anxiety, contemplating/preparing for a breakup or moving on from a relationship, healing from the fallout of antagonistic relational stress and/or narcissistic abuse, strengthening your boundaries, or you're just wanting to give that critical inner voice the boot so that you simply feel better about you, I'm here to help. * I am contracted with Care Oregon and am able to work with Trillium Community Health of OHP via single case agreement.

Hi! My name is Raveena. I particularly enjoy working with young adults navigating self-esteem and self-confidence issues, major life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I specialize in supporting individuals impacted by racism, bigotry, intergenerational trauma, acculturation challenges, disordered eating/ED's and body image. I also work with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and everyday stressors. I strive to create a space that affirms all identities and lived experiences. As a South Asian therapist of Punjabi descent, I bring a deep sense of empathy and cultural awareness to my work with BIPOC and other marginalized clients. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your head, struggling in relationships, or questioning who you are and where you're going, you’re not alone. College can bring a lot of pressure—academically, socially, and internally. I offer a warm, confidential space where you can slow down, make sense of what you're going through, and feel more like yourself again. Together, we’ll work to understand patterns that may be holding you back, build tools to manage stress and anxiety, and support you in developing a stronger sense of identity, confidence, and direction. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more able to navigate your life with clarity and self-trust.
I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders and relationship issues. Even more specifically, my specialty rests in helping women navigate the anxiety and overwhelm that arises when they think about saying no, setting boundaries, or expressing their true opinions. Many of my clients are exhausted from agreeing to things they don’t want to do, staying in relationships out of obligation or fear, or managing a busy social life that leaves them feeling unfulfilled and ultimately disconnected. As an attachment-based therapist, I work with women to uncover the roots of these patterns in their relationships, helping them get grounded in their values and build the courage to show up authentically. My approach helps to create context for conditioned behaviors and beliefs so that clients find their voice, face the fear of speaking their truth, and experience the freedom of being unapologetically themselves and more aligned with their values. I take a holistic approach to treatment, combining somatic work, nervous system regulation, and relational therapy. My work also incorporates nutrition and movement to support overall wellness, empowering clients to align their physical, emotional, and relational health. I completed my applied graduate training at Portland State University's Student Health and Counseling Center as a psychologist intern and was employed there as a part-time psychologist before opening my private practice. My residency was completed at Reed College Health and Counseling Center and I have also had the wonderful opportunity to complete early field work training at University of Portland's Health and Counseling Center. I love working with college students and it is a joy to be able to provide students with the opportunity for longer-term psychotherapy.
Do you beat yourself up? Do you have a hard time feeling like everything is okay, even when nothing particularly bad is going on? I have specialized training in helping people with their self-attack.
