Therapists for college students near 19122
Hi, I'm Ashley! Please feel free to self schedule or send an inquiry on my website for a consult or appointment. I work best with students who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, perfectionism, and constant overthinking. You might find yourself spiraling with “what if” thoughts, feeling like nothing you do is ever good enough, or stressing nonstop about exams, relationships, or the future. Some students I support struggle with panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, or relationship anxiety (like ROCD), which can feel isolating and confusing. Whether you're avoiding work because of fear of failure, checking things over and over, or feeling mentally exhausted from managing school and life, it doesn't have to stay this way. I help students break free from these patterns using active, evidence-based therapy. Together, we’ll build tools to quiet your inner critic, manage stress, and get back to living fully, not just surviving college. Virtual and in-person sessions are available. I’m here to support you in showing up for the life you want.

It is an honor to witness each person’s unique strengths and walk alongside clients as they navigate recovery, process past experiences, and cultivate resilience.

Ideal for clients who need discreet, judgment-free, practical work. This isn’t about managing symptoms. It’s about ending the war inside you. For those who want peace within and without. My clients are young women who are emotionally intelligent and highly self-aware; however, they still struggle with feelings of unworthiness and feel alone as they present to the world as "high-functioning." I help my clients make sense of the mismatch between what they “know” and what they feel and to move from surviving to thriving. My therapeutic style focuses on cultivating self-compassion and curiosity to offset the judgment we often use when relating to ourselves. A client of mine will hear me say, “All behavior makes sense, in context.” My aim is to be curious about your context to help you to see just how much you and your present experience makes sense.
I help clients learn to listen to and hear themselves; my interest is in helping you to develop the confidence to recognize and honor your own wisdom and thereby make more effective choices in your life. My clinical experiences have afforded me the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, including but not limited to those with major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bi-polar disorder, and grief. If you are interested in gaining insight into your problems and concerns in order to make changes in your life, then our work together will be rewarding for you. My therapeutic areas of interest include living with chronic physical illnesses, grief and loss issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, moving beyond fear in one's life, and providing support during and after pregnancy. I welcome clients of all ethnicities, cultures and orientations.

Are you emotionally exhausted, experiencing unsettling transitions or struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety or grief? Are you coping with toxicity within your relationships or having difficulties adjusting to the demands of academic life? My clients learn to use their suffering as guiding information, identifying imbalances and creating a greater impetus toward life change. I serve those seeking a deeper understanding and mastery of their life journey. We will work to increase intimacy and alignment with the core of your essential, authentic self. The archetypal language taps into the universal motivational patterns inherent in both the individual and collective psyches. Utilizing astrological theory specifically allows us to see pinnacle moments of growth potential evident throughout the life cycle, allowing for more conscious use of our efforts toward self-betterment and greater management of our unique motivational personality structure. With that, this theory underlies the tenets of a meaningful and synchronistic universe which can be collaborated with to co-create a more purposeful life and to help with radical acceptance of the things we cannot change. We may use this approach, along with other interventions, to help identify and integrate the disowned parts of the self which lead to recurrent negative patterns. I also specialize in treating victims of narcissistic abuse as they heal from relational trauma and learn to seek self-validation and challenge co-dependencies, honoring one's own limits and divesting from the toxic dynamics within relationships. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work (2006) and practice as a Telehealth Licensed Clinical Social Worker in CT and PA. I also have certification in Conscious Evolution in Archetypal Cosmology via the Graduate Institute (2011), in Archetypal Astrology and Cosmology via the Institute of Transpersonal and Archetypal Studies (2019) and a Certificate in Applied Archetypal Astrology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (2023). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH).

My counseling philosophy is grounded in trauma-informed practices, meaning I value collaboration, empowerment, and emotional and physical safety above all else. In time, clients will gain a richer understanding of themselves while working towards self-determined goals. I am especially attuned to those experiencing LGBT issues, trauma, and depression, as well as various non-monogamous relationships and organizing for social justice. As a social worker and through lived experience, I am highly aware of the daily social, institutional, and communal injustices that impact different historically oppressed people. To supplement a trauma-informed practice, I utilize CBT, Brainspotting, ACT, DBT, narrative, and solution-focused therapies when supporting a client. For those working towards understanding unconscious bias based on race, ability, class, or creed, I take an antiracist, intersectional, and systems approach to foster growth and accompliceship development. Reaching out to a new therapist can feel overwhelming and intimidating. I want to recognize the courage you have to start this journey and encourage you to take the next step. When you're ready, contact me and I'll get back to you shortly. For the fastest response, please contact me through email.
I've served college students in the university setting for over 20 years, as an academic advisor and counselor on multiple campuses. I have specific experience working with students to help them navigate personal, academic, career, social, stress, wellness, and relationship issues. I have enjoyed particularly assisting students in exploring their identities, managing stress, creating successful academic and experiential strategies and schedules, motivation, selecting a major, deciding up on a career focus, addressing anxiety and depression, navigating life changes, improving relationships, and growing their confidence and self-esteem. I implement practical, goal-oriented treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Psychoeducation to help clients recognize thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving them as they incorporate new strategies for moving forward. I want to enable students to achieve their best potential, question themselves less, and live their most joyful lives.
