You may look like you have it all together yet inside you feel anxious, exhausted, or like you’re never “enough.” The need to be “perfect”, frequent memories of past traumatic experiences, or challenges navigating unfulfilling relationships may have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and who you believe you truly are. You want to feel present, more confident, and at peace with yourself - to stop just “surviving” and start healing. My approach is rooted in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies, aiming to help release the emotional charge of painful memories while gaining greater self-awareness, compassion, and balance. Together, we’ll work to heal old wounds, quiet self-doubt, and cultivate a more grounded, fulfilling life. You don’t have to carry the weight of “having it all together” anymore. In doing the work, you can reconnect with your strength and rediscover peace within yourself. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Healing can begin with one courageous step.

My passion is working with clients who struggle with eating concerns and body image issues. I have experience with anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. I can also help if you feel that your relationship with food and/or exercise is complicated but have not been diagnosed with an eating disorder. I practice from a Health at Every Size® perspective and offer an inclusive space for all. I value being empathetic while challenging my clients to step outside of their comfort zone and unlock their strengths. Taking the first step to get help and support can be intimidating but it can lead to growth and change! My approach to treating eating disorders is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as emotional exploration. Sessions focus on emotional awareness, thought exploration, mindfulness, and reducing avoidance. I also treat co-occurring diagnoses such as anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and depression. Whether you have been struggling for some time or are just curious about therapy, feel free to contact me. I am open to phone consultations prior to the first session. One phone call or email can be the first step to change and a growth mindset. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I look forward to hearing from you!
Therapy is an invitation to identify and gently question beliefs and perceived obstacles that stand in the way of our wellness, happiness and living our lives fully. We base our work together on you- what you see happening in your life, what you want to be different, your strengths, your goals and bigger life plans. Together we identify ways to make positive small shifts to clarify and work toward obtaining your best future. We believe in positive psychology interventions that are solution focused and strength based. We believe your mind is the most powerful resource. Students who come to work with me often share some things in common: -They're high-achievers. Driven, capable, and holding it together on the outside, but quietly exhausted, burned out, or feeling like something's missing on the inside. -They might be navigating anxiety or OCD, going through a major life transition, or questioning their purpose and what comes next. They may be working through shifts in their relationships, with a partner, with their parents, or with themselves. -Many have never asked for help before. They're used to being the one who has it together, and reaching out takes real courage for them. If any of that sounds familiar, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation and let's get started together :)

College is this interesting time of transition where you are given an opportunity to explore independence away from your parents, hometown, and all that feels comfortable. But for many, this independence and freedom can be lonely, confusing and downright uncomfortable. You may feel like you are not cut out to succeed in such a high pressure environment. Decisions can seem overwhelming. Am I in the right major? What internship should I choose? Should I study abroad? Do I need to take a semester off? How do I manage my money? The pressure to perform academically can be intense and feel overwhelming. Picking a major, choosing classes, second guessing your decisions, and simply managing time and assignments can feel insurmountable. If you previously struggled with time management or organization, you may find your safety net is now far away and now your grades are suffering. I have worked with many students just like you. I work to treat a range on issues that get in the way of optimal academic performance - from depression to anxiety to ADHD. I further specialize in working with students who are also parents. Parenting young children while working towards your degree is no small feat. Pregnancy and/or postpartum during graduate school is challenging but together we can get through it. My name is Danielle Donovan and I'm so excited to begin this therapeutic journey with you! I currently work full-time as a School Counselor and I have eight years of experience working in the mental and behavioral health fields. I went to The Catholic University of America, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology, and Holy Family University, where I obtained my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a School Counseling concentration. Recently, I proudly accomplished obtaining my License as a Professional Counselor. Additionally, I enjoy implementing play therapy for children and adolescents to feel they can be honest and receptive in an approachable, engaging way.
Life is difficult; making sense of challenges and choices can be complicated. Times of stress can tax every relationship, even the relationship with our self. As a Professional Counselor my goal is to create a relationship in which you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions, assisting in discovering new opportunities for growth and change. In therapy we will cultivate, explore, and direct that change, working together to promote more authentic and satisfying ways of living. We will build a treatment plan and relationship that uniquely suits you, joining in understanding your past, paying attention to your embodied way of living, and creating new ways of being, socializing, and thinking. We all deserve happiness and understanding. Let’s clear the path to these together.

Welcome to the Awareness and Wellness Center (AWC)! My name is Amy Mintgomery and I am a professional counselor in Pennsylvania providing in-person and online counseling. I have been providing therapy services for adults struggling with a range of issues including substance use disorders, problems with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief/loss, as well as anger/stress management problems and more. I have gained this experience working in a variety of therapeutic settings including long-term residential, inpatient and outpatient agencies. For 18 years I worked in the Student Life division of a local university. I worked primarily with student organizations in organizational development. I helped the young adult population of the university develop self-efficacy and to better manage stress. More recently I worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings for substance use and co-occurring disorders. In therapy, I use a person-centered approached utilizing cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused technique. My approach is to provide a soothing space and offer the environment you need to talk through life’s challenges. “Life on life’s terms” can be complicated and everyone needs a place to process difficulties. My hope is to be part of your “We” so that you have the professional support needed to begin to work through challenges and find solutions to better manage stress and the emotions connected to that stress.
