Do you experience hypervigilance? panic? overwhelm? avoidance? unexplained physical symptoms? Many of my clients didn't realize that their symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and relationship struggles stem from trauma. Trauma isn't just something soldiers experience — it encompasses so many different life experiences. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to get at the root of your symptoms, rather than putting a bandaid on them for a temporary fix. I'm trained in EMDR 2.0 and the Four Blinks Flash technique, and I use advanced EMDR software to work effectively with clients online. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for clients ready to go deeper when talk therapy has reached its limits, along with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and ADHD-informed therapy. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and hold credentials as both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have been in the field a little over 10 years and have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns; including depression, anxiety, identity formation, crisis management, addiction, and life transitions. My counseling style is very person-first and engaging. I believe in incorporating different therapeutic techniques in order to meet you exactly where you are during each interaction. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice from Rutgers University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Disha completed her practicum and internship at the Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders. Disha practices under the supervision of Dr. Stacy Hunt, PhD. She is in pursuit of licensure. Disha has experience working with eating disorders/body image, trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, OCD, daily life issues and interpersonal issues. These symptoms come from somewhere in your life, it is your bodies way of telling you "something's not right" or "there needs to be a change here."
