Therapists for college students near Austin, TX
From the outside, you have it all together, but on the inside you feel disconnected. A gap between the life you’re living and the person you want to be. This disconnection is often a way our mind and body protect us, but overtime it leaves us feeling stuck or empty, in a cycle of doing rather than being. Whether we are navigating relationship concerns or echoes from the past, my focus is meeting you where you are. I work with individuals and couples to peel back these layers and rebuild trust and safety within yourself and others. Together, we work on understanding, untangling, and exploring emotions, behaviors, and past experiences and how they shape you, your world, and your relationships. We create trust and connection within yourself. It isn’t about control or correction. It’s about empowering you with the clarity and trust needed to meet challenges from a place true to you. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment that welcomes all orientations, relationships, and lifestyles. My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and unique to you. You are not alone, when you're ready, I'm here. If you'd like to learn more, reach out for a free consultation. I'd love to work with you. Email is the best way to get in touch.
Many of the people I work with seem to have spent a fair amount of time wondering if they are somehow doing "being a person" incorrectly. The overthinkers. The deep feelers. The people who have always felt a little different. A little out of step. Or like everyone else received instructions they themselves somehow missed. Some are navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or questions about who they are and how they want to move through the world. Many have spent a long time trying to make sense of things on their own. Therapy is not a place where you need to arrive polished, certain, or put together. It is a place where curiosity is welcome, questions are welcome, and most importantly, you are welcome. P.S. Consider this your official welcome to the Human Being Club. Your unpolished, un-edited pages are honored here.
I am a queer trans non-binary therapist and expressive arts therapist. My focus is providing individual therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults, women, and non-monogamous and polyamorous people. I specialize in working with trans and non-binary folks and people navigating relationships, building confidence, or wanting to engage the arts as part of therapy. I strive to create an environment where you can be yourself, feel comfortable exploring your experience and taking risks, and take steps towards what’s important to you. I am social justice oriented, neurodiversity-affirming, and work from a trauma-informed perspective. I am able to see clients in both Washington and Texas, and practice under the supervision of Candice Holloway, LPC-S and Breona Mendoza, LMHC. As expressive arts therapist, I often bring play and creative expression into therapy. This could include anything from creating a D&D character who represents part of your experience, to making a music playlist, to integrating visual art, movement, music, writing, or role-playing into our work. As a therapist, I am warm, engaged, and curious. You deserve a therapist that gets you – it’s important to me to take time to get to know you. I cheer you on and see myself as a facilitator and collaborator as you work towards your goals. As a human, I love camping, attending queer and sex-positive events, finding dogs, and trying new gluten free recipes.
Anxiety, trauma, and childhood wounds don’t just disappear. They sneak into daily life and make things feel heavier, even when nothing seems wrong. I work with teens and adults, often helping people whose feelings weren’t fully seen or supported growing up. Anxiety and trauma can show up as overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or that constant “something’s off” feeling. I take a warm, trauma-informed approach, moving at your pace so you can feel grounded, seen, and in charge of your life. I help teens and adults navigate anxiety, trauma, and childhood wounds using EMDR, Parts Work, somatic techniques, and CBT. Together we build coping skills, process difficult memories, and work toward healing. Therapy can be intense, but we also laugh, roll our eyes at anxiety, and celebrate small wins along the way. I help you care for the inner child you once needed, challenge the beliefs feeding anxiety, and rebuild self-worth. It’s okay if it’s messy, we will work through it together. Step by step, we’ll create space for calm, clarity, and connection. Reach out for a free consultation and let’s get started.
I love to make a meaningful impact on someone’s life. I make my clients feel understood by being present, using reflective listening, validating their feelings and summarization. I present myself in session with genuine interest, engage client in shared decision making, and collaborate to develop treatment goals.

I'm Lara, and I help overwhelmed moms who are carrying it all — the emotions, the decisions, the schedules, the invisible weight that no one else seems to see. If you’re feeling anxious, exhausted, and like you’ve lost yourself somewhere in the chaos of motherhood, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to keep doing this alone, either. As an LPC and mom of three, I deeply understand what it’s like to feel stretched thin, emotionally drained, and unseen. My work centers on helping women navigate the mental load of motherhood, find space to breathe, and reconnect with themselves. You don’t have to explain why you’re tired. You’ll be met with compassion, curiosity, and strategies that meet you exactly where you are. I hold Master’s degrees in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I’ve spent years helping women move through some of the hardest, most tender seasons of their lives. You’ve been showing up for everyone else — now it’s time for someone to show up for you
