WELCOME! I'm so glad you're here. Many of the people I work with are adults who’ve carried more than their fair share — the ones who look capable on the outside but feel anxious or disconnected on the inside. They've usually spent years masking ADHD/AuDHD, are deeply sensitive, and/or are trying to heal from complex trauma (CPTSD). If this sounds like you, I want you to know you're not alone, and you don’t have to keep trying to “figure it out” by yourself. I won’t hand you a checklist or tell you to breathe it away - I promise! Therapy with me is about noticing what’s alive for you and finding ways to move through patterns that have kept you stuck. With over 25 years of experience, and decades dedicated to my own recovery, I offer both professional expertise and a deeply lived understanding to our sessions. I’m quirky, a little unconventional, and definitely human. In our work together, we'll go beyond simply talking about your life. I'll help you to shift out of over-thinking and connect with the wisdom of your heart and body. That’s where your strength and self-trust already live, and where the parts of you that know how to heal can be heard. My therapy dog, Leasel, often joins us, offering her calm presence when words aren’t enough. I draw from approaches like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Therapy, integrated with Conscious Living principles. This work helps us uncover patterns that have been shaping your experiences and guides you toward change that's meaningful and actually lasts. Why I May Be A Good Fit For You I believe complex trauma shapes how we connect and move through the world—but those patterns can soften when we’re met with compassion and someone who’s been there. I grew up in a family that looked good on the outside but was marked by addiction and narcissism and it taught me how essential it is to be seen for who we truly are. I'm passionate about helping sensitive people know that hope is real, no matter what. I believe healing happens when we can be honest with ourselves and experience real connection. I show up as a real person—warm and down-to-earth. I also believe animals and nature offer healing when words fall short. I care deeply about neurodivergent folks, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and creating space for anyone who’s ever felt like they're on the outside looking in. I look forward to connecting with you!
Are life's challenges weighing you down? Do you find it difficult to balance a healthy lifestyle? Unexpected situations and roadblocks can often bring up feelings of uncertainty and stress. My goal is to create a safe environment while you explore your feelings, navigate through life challenges, develop effective coping strategies and adapt to new life circumstances.
I'm a compassionate and solutions focused counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life challenges with clarity and confidence. My approach blends empathy and practical strategies creating a safe and non judgmental space where you can explore your story, gain new insights, and take meaningful steps forward growth.
Welcome! Life is a journey and sometimes we just feel stuck. We encounter stress with work, relationships, school and life. Sometimes we are not sure what will help. I can teach you tools to help navigate through life's stressors so it does not feel so overwhelming.

I specialize in mental health and trauma working with individuals struggling with moderate to severe sexual trauma, historical trauma and childhood trauma. I cultivate a space of honest and difficult conversations. Creating an environment of emotional healing and nonjudgment. Hello! I’m Stephanie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to supporting adults as they navigate the complexities of mental health, trauma, and significant life changes. My journey in this field has been defined by a deep-seated belief in the resilience of the human spirit and a commitment to providing a nonjudgmental, empowering space where healing can truly begin. My Background and Expertise Background and Expertise My clinical foundation was built in the fast-paced, high-acuity environment of inpatient psychiatric hospitals across both the rural Amarillo region and the Austin Metroplex. Serving as a therapist, case manager, and court liaison, I have worked with patients facing some of life’s most challenging moments—from acute crisis intervention and short-term substance detox to the long-term management of chronic mood and psychotic disorders. This extensive background means that I am comfortable sitting with you through just about anything. Whether you are dealing with a recent crisis, navigating the heavy fog of grief and loss, or managing a chronic mental health condition that requires careful coordination and advocacy, I bring a wealth of systemic knowledge and clinical skill to our sessions. I understand the "social systems" of Texas and the unique obstacles our residents face, and I use that insight to help you navigate your own path to stability. My Therapeutic Approach I describe my style as eclectic, solution-focused, and deeply client-centered. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all "fix." Instead, I view therapy as a collaborative partnership. We will work together to identify your specific priorities and the barriers standing in your way. My approach is grounded in: Empowerment: I operate from a strengths-based perspective, helping you rediscover your internal resources. Holistic Wellness: I believe in looking at the whole person—your environment, your history, and your goals. Evidence-Based Skills: I integrate tools from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT to provide you with practical strategies for daily life. What to Expect In our work together, you can expect directness tempered with deep empathy. I am a firm believer in "reality testing" and stabilization, helping you find a "new normal" that preserves your sense of self while improving your social functioning and personal satisfaction. Whether you need a space to process a specific traumatic event, a partner to help you set and reach life goals, or simply a confidential place to vent and debrief after a period of burnout, I am here to support you. Start Your Journey I know that seeking mental health care is a significant investment of your time, emotions, and resources. To ensure we are the right match, I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation. This is a pressure-free time for us to meet, discuss your expectations, and determine if my skill set aligns with your needs. My goal is to empower you to create a plan of action that leads exactly where you want to be. I look forward to meeting you and helping you build the resilience needed to move forward.
Finding the right therapist is a lot like finding the right pair of shoes—it should feel like the right fit. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and rediscover a sense of peace and balance. I believe therapy should be as unique as the individual seeking it. Together, we will create treatment goals and sessions tailored to your specific needs, strengths, and experiences. I am passionate about helping clients develop practical tools and feel empowered to take an active role in their healing and personal growth.
Throughout life, we are constantly growing, changing, and evolving. Navigating these transitions can bring about uncomfortable feelings or challenge us to learn something new about ourselves. You may be a young adult learning how to live independently, a new parent, trying to start a family, looking for a career change, or just wanting to improve your current relationships. No matter what stage of life you are in, you are brave to look for support and I am glad you’re here. I believe working through and processing difficulties can bring hope, healing, and ultimately growth. I work to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space and to collaborate with clients helping them find their identity, their strengths, their passions and help to understand their value so that they reach their therapeutic goals. Ultimately my hope is that my clients, regardless of age, will reach a level of self-acceptance where they feel empowered and lead fulfilling lives with meaningful relationships.
My path started by working in alternative high schools, and then as a career counselor in management and business development roles for a few universities and military populations. I have over 18 years of experience working in education, career development, and mental health. My experience growing up in Flint, Michigan, and being the first in my family to attend college, shaped how I view and overcome challenges. I specialize in support for working professionals, especially teachers, nurses, and students with anxiety or depression who are struggling in their careers, education, or relationships. Many feel stuck, burnt out, angry, and overwhelmed. Chronic stress makes it hard for them to connect with their instructors, bosses, and peers. Time management is an issue and constantly trying to keep up. Some may prefer to be alone, even though it leads to ruminating over traumatic work experiences and substance use. My clients have demanding jobs and/or class schedules, and are highly trained and accustomed to solving problems. However, no one is immune to the long-term effects of stress and trauma. I have over 18 years working in counseling, higher education, and career development. My communication style is warm, yet solution-focused, often encouraging you to think from the end, build your resilience, and focus on the future. Some clients get what they need to make a positive change in 6-8 sessions. Others enjoy my long-term support to address trauma. First time trying talk therapy? Congrats on taking the first step. I value confidentiality and understand the college campus and workplace cultures. You do not have to go through this alone. Let's get you out of survival mode and start to thrive. Reach out to schedule your complimentary 15-minute consultation today. I look forward to talking with you.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by pressure to perform, constantly overthinking, or worried about failing—even when you’re doing your best? I work with athletes who are navigating anxiety, burnout, identity challenges, and the stress of balancing academics, activities, relationships, and life transitions. Many of my clients are driven and capable, but feel stuck, stretched too thin, or unsure of who they are outside of achievement. My approach is practical, supportive, and focused on real-life tools you can actually use. I integrate evidence-based methods like cognitive-behavioral strategies and strengths-based work to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and stress responses. I’m direct when it’s helpful, encouraging when you feel stuck, and focused on helping you build confidence, emotional balance, and resilience without sacrificing your well-being. Your first session is a low-pressure conversation where we’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what you want to change, and what support could look like. You don’t need to have the “right” words—just come as you are. Together, we’ll create a clear path forward so you can feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.
