I earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing in Psychiatry from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am proud to say I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a true believer that not one of my fellow humans is immune to stress, anxiety, and feelings of sadness at some point in their life. We all find ourselves feeling vulnerable at times. It is completely normal to question why we feel the emotions that we do, why we seem to fall apart at times, and better yet, how we can get through it all in one beautiful piece. I think the first step to meaningful recovery from anxiety, depression, complex mental illness, and/or substance use is to reach out and ask for help. It is a difficult, but very brave action. I am not one to judge, look down on, question your past experiences, or current situation. I am very good at rationally breaking down a situation and I can offer practical advice and medication suggestions depending on your goal in mind. Hello, my name is Kristen Cooper MacDiarmid. I am a licensed professional counselor that works with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in anxiety and mood disorders, but I also have extensive experience with school and behavioral issues. In this time of turmoil and change, it is more important than ever to take care of our mental health while maintaining our physical health and well being; therefore, I am now offering telehealth appointments for both play and talk therapy. I believe that everyone has the strength and ability to succeed deep within themselves, even if you can’t see it because of your current situation or mindset. I want to help you find that inner ability, pull from that innate strength, and learn the techniques that will help bring out the best you have within you. Whether through play therapy as a child or talk therapy as an adult, I can help you find techniques that will work for you to help you manage the daily stressors of life, make radical life changes, or to work through trauma. I can work with you to find ways to reframe your thinking and provide noticeable change and help facilitate peace in your life.
LET’S BE HONEST: Existing between worlds is exhausting. Co-existing in multiple worlds and cultures doesn’t come with a roadmap. The competing demands and expectations leave you feeling tugged in opposing directions, and you’re left with the feeling that no matter how hard you try, you’ll never be enough for anyone. Even though there are many people in your life, it feels like nobody from any ‘side’ really gets you, and you’re not sure where you truly belong. You’re tired of facing microaggressions when you’re out and about and obstacles to advancing at work. All this is impacting your relationship, where you’re struggling to communicate and feel a sense of togetherness across the divides.
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker who practiced in a college counseling setting for over 4 years and I have 15 years of counseling experience total. I continue to work with college students in my private practice and I enjoy working with people to better manage anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, grief, life transitions, relationship, concerns, and general stress. My practice is body positive and LGBTQ+, immigrant, and international student supportive and affirming. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for processing fears, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I use various types of therapy, including ACT, CBT, DBT skills, somatic therapy, schema therapy, ERPT, narrative therapy, and person centered therapy, but I tailor sessions to what works best for you. I also welcome your feedback in the process. I strongly encourage coming to therapy in the way that you are most comfortable - meaning, swear if you feel the need, don't apologize for eating in sessions if you are hungry, show up in your pajamas - whatever. As long as you are safe and comfortable and you are able to talk privately, I support it. I offer a free 15 minute consultation call to see if we are a good fit, because having a therapist you trust and match with is paramount. I offer virtual telehealth sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I offer in person sessions in Kingwood, Texas on Wednesdays. Please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to connect and I wish you the best in your therapist search!
Whether it's the constant pressure to succeed, the fear of rejection, or the uncertainty of what tomorrow may bring, anxiety and Depression can quickly spiral out of control, leaving us feeling helpless and overwhelmed. This cycle of worry not only affects our mental well-being but also takes a toll on our physical health and relationships.I am deeply honored to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and self discovery.
Clients that I see in my practice are frequently struggling with life transition, academic stress, family concerns, and issues in their interpersonal relationships, all while trying to succeed as students. I also work with many clients either diagnosed with ADHD (or suspecting that they have it) who are seeking support to improve functioning. My practice is also LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming.
Dr. Aw's primary interest is the intersection between mental and physical health. Dr. Aw’s philosophy is that one does not exist outside the other. Furthermore, depression and anxiety in patients who are also suffering from medical issues can feel significantly worse, and it is his goal to get patients on a holistic road to recovery. An ideal patient for Dr. Aw understands that it takes a team to get them feeling better, and it is a collaboration between the patients themselves and Dr. Aw.
Life hasn’t gone the way you thought it would. Maybe you’re grieving someone or something important, navigating chronic illness, or facing a major life change that’s left you questioning who you are. You might look “fine” on the outside but you feel lost, disconnected, or just tired of holding it all together. Deep down you want to feel at peace - to rediscover your sense of purpose, rebuild your confidence, find your new normal, and reconnect with the part of yourself you’ve had to leave behind. I offer a calm, supportive space to process what you’re going through - without judgment or pressure. Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, I help clients explore self-compassion, resilience, and growth. Together, we’ll uncover what healing looks like for you and take it one day at a time. You don’t have to face this alone. Healing doesn’t mean pretending everything’s okay - it’s about honoring your story and finding new ways forward. We might laugh, maybe even curse a little, but we’ll always keep it real. If you’re ready to begin again, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. I specialize in helping individuals who are experiencing chronic illness, life transitions, and grief as well as suicidal thoughts and psychosis. Chronic Illness: Living with a chronic illness can impact every part of your life - your identity, your relationships, your energy, and your sense of control. Together, we’ll make space for the frustration, fear, and grief that can come with ongoing health challenges. We’ll explore ways to honor your body’s limits while still creating a fulfilling, meaningful life that feels like yours again. Life Transitions: Change, even when it’s “supposed” to be positive, can feel unsettling. Whether you’re adjusting to a move, a career shift, becoming a caregiver, or adjusting to a new phase of life, I’ll help you slow down, reflect, and find your new normal. Our work will focus on clarity, self-compassion, and building resilience as you move through uncertainty and rediscover your footing. Grief: Grief isn’t something to “get over.” It’s a process of learning how to carry what’s been lost and find moments of peace amongst the pain. Whether you’re mourning a loved one, a part of yourself, or a life that didn’t go as planned, we’ll navigate that process together - with gentleness, honesty, and the space to just be where you are. Suicidal Thoughts: If you’ve ever felt like giving up or that things will never get better, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to go through it alone. I offer a non-judgmental space to talk openly about these thoughts, identify what keeps you going, and find ways to reduce pain and increase safety. Healing begins with honesty, and it’s okay to start wherever you are. Psychosis: If you are living with psychosis, it can feel confusing, isolating, or overwhelming. Together, we’ll work to understand your experiences, identify triggers, and develop grounding and coping strategies that help you feel more in control of your life. My approach emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and restoring confidence — helping you find meaning, safety, and connection while honoring your lived experience. Professional Experience: I began my career in 2014 and have since worked in a variety of settings, including crisis services, partial hospitalization (PHP), and community mental health. Over the years, I’ve supported individuals navigating depression, anxiety, chronic illness, grief, suicidal ideation, self-harm, psychosis, major life transitions, and much more. My work has included crisis intervention, safety planning, clinical assessment, and ongoing therapy focused on building self-compassion and resilience. These experiences have shaped my belief that growth happens when we feel seen, supported, and empowered to take life one step at a time. Next Steps: Start with free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. We’ll briefly discuss your goals, what’s bringing you to therapy, and answer any questions you may have about the process. Reach out to me via my website, email, or phone. Please allow 24-48 business hours for me to return contact to inquiries.

College is a lot. Between classes, relationships, family expectations, work, and figuring out who you are, it can feel like you’re carrying more than anyone realizes. At 903 Counseling, we offer a space where you don’t have to have it all together. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, relationships, homesickness, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we’re here to help. Our approach is genuine, down-to-earth, and focused on real life—not judgment. You don’t have to navigate college alone. We’re here to help you build confidence, find balance, and move forward with support that feels human. In-person and virtual appointments available.
You’re the strong one — the responsible one — the one who learned early how to hold it together. You navigate different spaces, code-switching when needed, carrying family expectations while trying to build relationships that feel healthy and secure. You’re self-aware, but old attachment patterns still show up. You’re ready to understand what shaped you and create connection that feels safe, mutual, and authentic. I provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapy for Black and Brown Millennials and Gen Z adults and couples. Using EMDR and relational therapy, we process generational and relational wounds so you can shift patterns at their root — not just manage the symptoms. You don’t have to keep carrying everything alone. Many of your patterns were learned for survival — they make sense. Therapy offers space to unlearn what no longer serves you and build something healthier. If you’re ready for intentional, culturally responsive depth work, I invite you to reach out.

Hi, I’m Tabitha Cantu, MSW, LCSW, and I provide virtual therapy to women in university as I understand the challenges college can bring. Many of the women I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, boundaries, life transitions, relationship challenges, family conflict, self-esteem concerns, and the pressures of school, work, and everyday life. As a Hispanic woman who has lived and worked in different states across the U.S., I’ve had the privilege of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and communities. These experiences have broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of the unique culture, communities, and challenges individuals face, and shaped the compassionate, culturally responsive approach I bring to therapy. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, integrating evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies to help clients build coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful change. Whether you’re adjusting to college life, managing academic stress, working through relationship concerns, or seeking greater confidence and balance, therapy can provide a space to explore challenges and develop practical tools for growth. I currently offer virtual therapy sessions throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Florida.
The majority of my clientele are in undergraduate or graduate programs. I assist clients in working through the stress, anxiety and uncertainty of this pivotal point in life.
