I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master's degree in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I have experience working with adjudicated youth in residential treatment, inpatient treatment, and at a PHP/IOP eating disorder treatment facility. My specialty areas include trauma, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, communication, and codependency. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, client-centered perspective and am in alignment with Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating principles that I incorporate into disordered eating and eating disorder treatment. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be one of the most healing and safe relationships encountered so I strive to meet clients where they're at with empathy and genuineness. I aim to support clients and walk alongside them in their healing journey while highlighting their strengths. I am EMDR trained and enjoy incorporating EMDR into treatment as appropriate. I also utilize techniques and interventions from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). College can be an exciting time—but it can also bring a lot of pressure, uncertainty, and emotional stress. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, academic stress, identity questions, or relationship challenges, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. I'm here to offer a space where you can be real, feel heard, and start making sense of everything you're navigating. As a therapist, I work with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or unsure of who they are or where they're headed. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and focused on helping you gain clarity, confidence, and tools that actually work—without judgment or pressure. If you're looking for someone who understands the unique stressors of student life and can help you feel more grounded and in control, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
Is life supposed to look like this? Is this how I’m supposed to feel? How many times have you asked yourself these questions, questioned why you are on this earth, questioned your existence? For me, the answer is that I have asked myself this countless times. Most of my life I had people tell me who I was. What I was allowed to say, what I was allowed to feel, what my opinions should or should not be. I was expected to conform, to not take up space, to obey. I never felt like I belonged anywhere. I longed for it. I wanted to know myself. I wanted to be seen. So, I went to therapy. My therapist helped me acknowledge the distorted mirror that had been held up in front of my face for so long by others. She helped me stop waiting for others to see me, to validate me, and guided me to my own gut-wrenchingly painful but oh so beautiful journey of self-exploration and healing. I wish that I could say to you that I have always had a strong identity and sense of self, but the truth is that I needed someone to let me know that they saw me. That they understood me. Have you ever felt seen? I mean really seen. Seen for everything you are. The rawness that comes with that. It makes us feel alive, it validates us, it permeates us with energy. Energy to engage, energy to connect, energy to contribute. I want to help you become a reflection of your highest self. I want to help you get to know you. I want to weather the storm of life with you, be there to see you in your most exquisite moments but also in your most broken. I specialize in working with relationship concerns, men’s issues, and trauma work (I do EMDR which is a specialized treatment for trauma. I also help with alcohol and substance-use that is causing you concern (or curiosity), old coping mechanisms stemming from childhood, existential depression, anxiety, and relationship stressors. As a therapist, I want to help my clients relinquish their stories of pain and help them move towards a future that no longer feels limited. SO, let’s begin. Let me provide you a safe, warm, judgement-free, space of acceptance. A space to be seen. A space to heal and grow. I am so excited to see you. The Story: As I consider what initially drew me to the field of psychology, a quote by Robert Frost comes to mind: “The best way out is through”. By age 10, I had already lived a life full of adversity. Receiving therapy to help sort through painful experiences was transformative and my therapist was kind, gentle, full of empathy, respectful, and empowering. My biggest takeaway from therapy was how crucial the therapeutic relationship is; so much more work, growth, and healing can be done when you feel safe with your therapist, when you feel they really see you and understand you. You can always count on me to be genuinely myself when we are together, to be a human with another human. I knew since I was ten years old that I wanted to be able to help people heal. I knew that I wanted to listen to all those intricate details that are woven together that makes up someone’s life story. I wanted to sit there on the floor with someone, help them pick up the pieces, sort through them, notice each piece, and help put things back together. I learned early that pain can travel through family lines until someone is ready to heal it in themselves. I wanted to encourage others that by going through the pain or growth, will allow for the cycle to be broken, for the pattern to end there. It’s incredibly sacred work and incredibly meaningful. I also knew it was going to be a long road to be able to get where I needed to be so that I could offer this to others. I’m thankful to be here now with you. I’m now equipped with my PhD and more life experiences than it might appear at first glance. My Training: I began my pursuit of a career as a psychologist at Texas Tech University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in psychology. I then attended the University of Louisville where I completed my Master’s degree in counseling psychology. I finalized my education at the University of Missouri- Columbia where I received my Doctorate (Ph.D.) in counseling psychology. Through so many years of experience and education, countless hours of research, and looking at the science of everything, I have found that the most crucial part of helping a person heal, is the therapeutic relationship. If we don’t like or trust someone, how in the world can we open up and allow someone to know us intimately enough to help facilitate our own healing? I specialize in working with trauma of all kinds and have obtained my certification as an EMDR therapist (a type of trauma healing therapy). I also have spent a lot of time working with addictions and believe that addiction is not about the substance itself but rather it’s about the pain that fuels the desire to use the substance. I also enjoy working with life anxieties and stressors, family of origin concerns, inner-child healing, relational issues, grief, and so many other things! Can you tell my training has been eclectic? I believe that everyone is unique and there is not a one size fits all method of therapy. I tailor my work to each individual and their needs and goals. Some concepts and theories that inform my work are attachment theory (childhood experiences effect how we see ourselves and others), trauma informed care, interpersonal, relational, and feminist theory (all components of our identities and environments we are in impact us). My Commitment: Every step I have taken in my life has brought me here; to being a psychologist. I look at past experiences I have had as ways of deeply understanding my clients and their struggles. You can trust that I will sit with you, as a human sitting with another human (not some therapy robot), and express genuine empathy and compassion towards you and your story. We will take time to create a relationship that you can believe in, that you can depend on, and feel safe in. I want to spend my time empowering you, helping you feel inconceivably brave, unloading some of the pain you might have been carrying, watching you gain inner peace, and allowing yourself to be seen. It is my privilege to be able to sit and listen to you and be your guide on this journey.
My goal is to understand your internal experience, and support you through challenges. I utilize approaches that aim to change maladaptive thinking and behavioral patterns, identify strengths and values, establish healthy daily routines, and increase self acceptance. I specialize in working with people who feel stressed or overwhelmed with life circumstances, and need help with structure, boundaries, communication skills, and healthy coping. I help clients take control of their life by focusing on self improvement and clarifying their needs and wants.

Hi, I'm Lindsey Goulden, a licensed therapist providing a supportive and practical approach to help individuals navigate challenges with self-esteem, social anxiety, relationships, and executive functioning. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients build real-world coping skills while fostering self-acceptance and confidence. Whether you're facing a season of change, or are experiencing the stress of daily life, therapy with me is a change to slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and discover ways forward that feel authentic and sustainable.
In my practice, I find that the most valuable part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between a counselor and a client. I strive to create an environment that feels authentic, warm and supportive and believe it is privilege to be part of an individual's journey through healing, growth and self-discovery. I have experience helping adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, past trauma history, bullying, self-harm, low self-esteem, family of origin issues, & suicidal thoughts among a variety of other concerns. I also enjoy working in perinatal mental health and am currently enrolled in training through Postpartum Support International.
I am training to become a Play Therapist, these skills can be used with children or teen, though I also aim to use those skills with adults as well. My space has plenty of toys and items to encourage therapeutic growth. In addition, I use the scientific methods of Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior therapies to assist in the growth of each person. This is my philosophy when it comes to our therapy sessions and my own life; Laughter, play and accountability allow us to create, and live healthy and meaningful lives. No matter your struggles, your child's concerns, or the hurt within your family: I will do my very best to ensure you are heard and you gain the appropriate tools and skills needed.
I currently have immediate openings for teletherapy and I also offer walk-and-talk sessions at the San Jose Rose Garden. I am licensed in both California and Texas. I have more than ten years of experience working with adolescents and young adults. I most frequently help my college-aged clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, ADHD, executive dysfunction, giftedness, self-esteem and body image issues, relationships, grief, disordered eating, and trauma. I specialize in, and especially enjoy working with, ADHD, gifted persons, and college-aged young adults. As a private practice clinician since 2012, I take an affective, strengths based, approach to therapy. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, trauma-informed care, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. I work with individuals and families, and I facilitate an LGBTQ+ inclusive group for college-aged young women and non-binary persons. My style of therapy is centered, relaxed, and collaborative. It is vital to my practice that clients know they are talking to a real human being, and my client-therapist relationships are built on mutual trust and safety. I believe that mental healthcare should be holistic. To get at the whole person, I like to explore the interplay between movement, nutrition, sleep, and time spent in nature. And because mental health impacts so much of our lives, I often advocate for my clients and help coordinate support with other academic and healthcare professionals. I strongly believe that mental healthcare should be accessible and easy to navigate for everyone. I welcome clients from all communities, backgrounds, and walks of life. Outside of my home office, I am an avid hiker and eater of takeout. I’m learning to surf, and my favorite part of every day is spending time with my sixteen-year-old wiener dog.
I offer a warm, welcoming approach to therapy. Clients often feel better after the first session and grow on that progress with each subsequent session.... Learning how to thrive, not just survive. Specialties include: anxiety, bipolar, depression, and psychosis. I have experience with Veterans, after working eleven years at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX.

I support young adults and people in transition—whether you’re starting something new, ending something old, or feeling stuck in between. I also work with clients of all ages and bring a warm, down-to-earth approach grounded in practical tools like CBT and solution-focused therapy. I’ve lived a lot of life—raised a family, worked in real estate and corporate settings—and I bring that perspective into the work we do together.
Do you often find yourself getting angrier than you think you should? Do you frequently feel sadness, stress, or worry you can’t explain? Have you found yourself feeling like more of a roommate instead of a couple with your spouse? Is poor communication having a negative impact on your relationships? These are challenges we often face in life. I can help you see the triggers of anger, anxiety, and depression with a different perspective with CBT and REBT. Using Gottman Method Couples Therapy I can help you get your relationship back on track. It is my desire to assist you in what could be a life changing experience. Call me to schedule an appointment and together we can work together to help you be the happy person you are meant to be.
College can be exciting—and overwhelming at the same time. Many students come to counseling feeling stressed, burned out, unsure of who they are becoming, or anxious about the future. You might be juggling classes, work, relationships, family expectations, and big questions about identity and direction—while feeling like you’re supposed to have it all figured out. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where college students and young adults can slow down, process what they’re carrying, and feel genuinely understood. Counseling with me is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, confident, and clear as you move forward. I Work With Students Navigating: *Academic stress, burnout, and pressure to perform *Anxiety, overthinking, and constant mental fatigue *Identity exploration (values, purpose, faith, culture, self-worth) *Life transitions (starting college, transferring, graduating, post-grad uncertainty) *Career uncertainty, major decisions, and fear of “choosing wrong” *Relationship challenges (dating, friendships, family dynamics) *Perfectionism, people-pleasing, and imposter syndrome *Feeling lost, stuck, or disconnected from yourself You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counseling—many students come simply because they want support during a demanding season of life. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based counseling practices. Sessions are a space where you can talk openly, ask questions, and develop tools that actually help in daily life—whether that’s managing stress, improving boundaries, or making sense of who you’re becoming. If you are a Christian who values faith as part of your life, I also offer Christian counseling upon request. This is always optional and guided by your comfort level.
