If you're self-aware or just discovering yourself, I can help you find perspective and direction that's right for you. I don't just listen; I like to help you make changes that you desire. I get excited by progress. And I love working with couples (or more) because so much of the growth happens right in the room. I'd welcome the opportunity to talk if you'd like to know more.
Hi! My name is Michelle and I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist. I am currently accepting new referrals. I have over 10 years experience working with children, parents and families. I specialize in relationships between children and parents, biracial parenting, multi-racial children and I enjoy helping family systems navigate daily struggles of living at home during the pandemic. I also have experience working with adults who are navigating life stressors and life changes.
It would be an honor to be with you on your journey, whether it is to deepen self understanding and acceptance, explore relationships or manage anxiety and depression. It is your journey and your space so we will work together to find the best path and the most useful tools for you. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years experience working with a diverse and amazing variety of people. I spent many years working with teens and young adults in supportive housing, emergency shelters, schools and in private practice. The backbone of my training and the way I work is Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe finding the root of any issue is important for one to be able to grow and thrive. I also use many tools that incorporate mindfulness and body awareness. I have also completed an extensive training on providing trauma informed care and strive to make my practice safe and supportive for all. I am committed, as a provider, as a woman, and as a citizen of the world to creating a safe, inclusive space for all who I work, live, and play with.
Welcome! Our childhood experiences can have a lasting impact on how we function as adults both independently and within relationships. By attending therapy, do you hope to: Process trauma? Reduce dissociations? Improve boundaries? Become more independent? Reduce negative self-talk? Enhance self-care? Feel supported and accepted? I specialize in single-event PTSD, complex PTSD, survivors of emotional and psychological abuse, and adult children of narcissistic parenting. Even if you don't fall into these categories, I welcome you to reach out to see if we're a good fit. I provide hope, knowledge, compassion and unconditional acceptance of who you are and where you are on your journey. I honor your life experiences and work humbly with you without taking an expert position in your life. Our work will be customized to meet your unique needs and you will be actively involved in our work together. Ubuntu is an African philosophical term that means: I am, because we are. Humanity cannot exist in isolation; we are our best selves when we are in healthy relationships. You do not have to travel alone on your journey towards healing and growth. Together we will work in the present to heal your past and move toward your ideal future.

You feel lost, scared, and alone. Guess what? You’re not. I can help you process the unexpected, regain control of yourself, and move forward to create life-altering change and establish a reality that is probably better than you can visualize right now. All you have to do is reach out. Together we'll identify what isn't working for you anymore (maybe it never has). We’ll direct attention to the solutions - working together to create a treatment plan, a way forward, using a combination of evidence-based practices. You deserve specialized care. Very often feels that if one area of your life is going well, another takes a nose dive. Often the clients I work with are determined, successful and focused but still, something feels like it is not correctly aligned. Many of my clients struggle with relationships, feeling comfortable with others, anxiety and depression. College is a formative time but can very often feel that you are alone trying to figure everything out: what do I want to do? How do I separate what I want from what my parents, friends, professors or peers want? Do I feel ready to be an "adult?" Therapy can help you figure out who you are and where you want to go. Most importantly, meeting with a therapist can help you make sense of it all.
I graduated from UMass Medical school and was trained in adult psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. Prior to going to medical school I received a Masters in Teaching from Boston University and worked as a teacher. This unique background affects my approach to psychiatry. I believe that a good psychiatrist should work with you to help you learn about yourself and your mental health. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic styles including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), psychodynamic therapy, supportive therapy, and Gottman style couples/relationship therapy. During my time at CHA I worked extensively with the Gender and Sexuality Clinic to serve patients of diverse sexual and gender identities. I also co-lead a group therapy for individuals in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships. I have taught at the American Psychiatric Association’s specialized rotation for HIV Psychiatry, including lectures on how to provide effective telepsychiatry, and I have presented at a national meeting on teaching providers how to better work with patients to prescribe medications. I am a licensed physician in Massachusetts, New York, and California. I offer in person appointments in Somerville, MA as well as secure telehealth appointments to those residing in Massachusetts, New York, and California. In addition to medication management I offer individual and relationship/couples therapy.

My approach is tailored to your individual needs, drawing from person-centered therapy to ensure you feel heard and understood, interpersonal therapy to help you navigate relationship dynamics, and cognitive behavioral therapy to address unhelpful thought patterns. Hi there! My name is Alyssa and I’m a licensed therapist in California and Nevada. I am passionate about helping individuals create long-lasting and holistic change. I believe when we are struggling with internal conflict, it can be challenging to have relationships with others and live a fulfilling life. If you are human, learning and living in today's complicated environment, you have probably experienced anxiety, stress and sadness. Therapy is like personal training or tutoring for feelings; it's curated one on one support to help you reach your emotional wellness goals. While totally normal, emotions can be difficult to navigate and result in suffering, numbing out with substances, acting against values, development of physical pain/illness and/or avoidance of situations and people. When emotions start to interfere with life, therapy can help. Inflow Wellness is a psychotherapy and coaching practice dedicated to helping people manage stress, re-establish life balance, and feel better through life's challenges; simply put- to ride waves of emotion and become more aligned in mind, body and heart.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." - Victor E. Frankl Making the decision to seek therapy is often a deeply personal one and something that you may not have come to easily. The unknown aspects of therapy can be intimidating, but I am here to create a safe and accepting environment where you can embrace your true self, with all its vulnerabilities and honesty. My belief in the innate power of every individual to grow and transform their lives fuels my passion for therapy. I am dedicated to fostering a collaborative and open-minded relationship with you. As the master of your own life, I see myself as a tool, utilizing my expertise to help you discover the best possible version of yourself and your life. On a personal note, I hold a BA in Psychology and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Working with individuals who are ready to confront their challenges and make positive changes is my true calling. Our life experiences can have far-reaching implications, affecting relationships, work or school performance, self-image, and overall beliefs about oneself and the world. I enjoy working with diverse clients, including teens, young adults, singles, parents, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. While I take my work seriously, I am, by nature, a truly laid-back person and strive to make you feel welcomed and supported throughout our journey together. In the words of Abraham Maslow, "In any given moment, we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety." I commend you for taking that first step forward.
My mission on earth is to help people live authentic, fulfilling lives. There are many things holding us back from this way of being: patterns of thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve us, fear, depression, anxiety, shame, loneliness. In the virtual world we are more connected than ever, and we are also in a time of profound disconnection - from our body, ourself, others. Therapy is a great way to get connected. To start living the life you dream of. Perhaps to begin dreaming that a better life is possible. I'm here to walk with you on your journey every step of the way. Together, we will discover who you are and make a plan to get you where you want to be. Self-knowledge, acceptance, compassion, forgiveness, and change are not easy. But the end result is more freedom, possibility, and love. I'm ready to walk your journey with you. Are you ready? "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." ~Morpheus, "The Matrix"
