“I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.” - Clive Staples Lewis Beginning the process of therapy can be intimidating, overwhelming, and scary. I completely understand and have been where you are. Sitting in silence only prolongs the inevitable. Trying to resolve the problem with the help of a friend or loved one eases the burden temporarily but you may not get to the core. Working with a trusted therapist, you begin to understand your deeper thought processes, the ineffective loops you’re likely stuck in, and the fear-based thoughts holding you back. I help people struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational conflicts. I begin where you stand now. I move slowly, gently, and respectfully towards the goals we create together. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma, and Systemic Family Therapy. Some of my past experiences include working with individuals and couples in several private practice locations over the years, an inpatient drug/alcohol addiction treatment center, and at a U.S. Air Force base helping military members and their families. I also worked as a mental health counselor in a close-security prison for 3 ½ years helping male inmates struggling with mental health issues. A few fun facts about me: I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and have lived in multiple countries and states. I've been married to my beautiful bride for over 20 years and we are empty nesters (if you don't count our 4 pets)!

I focus on issues related to multicultural experiences, diversity, and inclusion. I am highly effective in working with students as they redefine their identity and heal from trauma, grief, personal challenges, and interpersonal conflicts. Those choosing to work with me are assisted in experiencing a reintegration of all aspects of self and courage to live in truth.
My desire is to help people along the journey of healing and wholeness. I provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space where we can explore what is weighing you down. In each counseling session, I work with my client to identify problems and ultimately find solutions that fit their needs. I graduated from Richmont Graduate University with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Certificate in Christian Sex Therapy. I have special interests in helping young adults navigate stresses that come with identity formation and navigating technology use and busy schedules. I have experience with a variety of issues and treatment approaches including but not limited to: personal growth, identity, self-esteem, expressive and creative therapies, EMDR, stress management, spiritual growth, depression, anxiety, issues of sexuality and sexual wholeness including sexual pain, trauma, and boundary issues.
Making the decision to begin your therapeutic journey can feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a safe environment for you to grow and explore the things that have been holding you back. This could be feelings of anxiety, trauma, communication issues, difficulty establishing boundaries, toxic relationships with family or friends, or a major change in your life that has left you feeling confused or lost. Our work together will include identifying triggers and patterns of behavior, as well as recognizing roadblocks and reframing negative thoughts. I have some specialty areas including trauma, adoption, foster care, LGBTQIA, anxiety, relationships, parenting, and divorce. I've been trained in Training for Adoption Competency with C.A.S.E., EMDR, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other modalities. I emphasize collaboration in my sessions and provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere. I would be happy to discuss if I am the right person to work with you. Reaching out can be a difficult, but important step. Starting counseling takes a lot of courage and I commend you for beginning your search for a counselor by visiting this page. Hello! My name is C Durden (she/her/hers), and I work at the Getting Real Counseling Center. A little bit about GRCC: Getting Real Counseling Center provides individual and relational counseling services to those who need it most. Our practice is a safe space to talk through your daily struggles and unlock your true potential. We pride ourselves in offering a place to talk without interruption, judgement, and perception of others getting in your way. Talk therapy can help you identify what you really want and need, help uncover the values and beliefs that drive you, your relationships, and your world view. Specialties: Our practice is happy to address anything that you believe is holding you back from living your best life, but we specialize in services catered to eating disorders (ED) and body image, LGBTQ+ issues, self-injury, trauma (emotional, physical, and religious), neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism Spectrum), kink, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), and relationships. Getting Real Counseling Center is the perfect place to talk and get assistance in developing a plan to change your life for the better. A little bit about me specifically: When you and I are in the room together, my goal is for you to be able to be your authentic self—including all of the grit, messiness, and beauty that comes with it. I work from an integrated perspective that incorporates narrative, feminist, queer, and existential lenses, but I am also able to adapt my methods to bring in other tools to best serve the specific issues at hand. I believe in a balance of compassion and challenge when working with clients. The challenge is that this is vulnerable work—it can be scary, harder before it gets easier, but I don’t expect you to work alone. You and I will work together, and there is no topic that is too big or too taboo for this space. I will strive to cultivate a trusting relationship between us so that you feel safe bringing in whatever you need to. My passion areas include sex therapy, gender identity work, grief and loss, and navigating interpersonal relationships. While I am open to working with all clients, the communities I love to center on include LGBTQIA+ communities, older adults, men and masculine of center clients, kink communities, and non-monogamous clients. My wish is for us to feel big emotions together, and face what we need to head on. Often in my sessions, there can be crying, but there can also be laughter, a good amount of swearing (if you’re comfortable!), and the shared wonder of growth. I am excited to potentially join you on your journey, and cannot wait to get to know you! I take Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna insurance.

I am able to build rapport quickly with people and clients in general. I am willing to work with people who are ready to receive the help they need. Sexton, LPC, LLC (License Number: LPC01661). As an LMSW, I provide therapeutic services within the scope of my professional training and in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the applicable state licensing boards. As an LMSW, my clinical practice is supervised by Jessica G. Sexton, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). While I am fully qualified to provide therapeutic services, all clinical work is conducted under the guidance and supervision of Jessica to ensure the highest standard of care and compliance with all relevant laws and ethical guidelines. Clients seeking services from me should be aware that I am not independently licensed to practice as a fully autonomous therapist and that I am operating under supervision as per the laws of Georgia. Supervision will include regular case reviews, consultation, and oversight to ensure that all treatment plans and therapeutic interventions adhere to professional and ethical standards. My practice specializes in providing clinical counseling and consulting services for diverse populations from a systemic lens. I provide individual and family counseling, evaluations for ADHD & autism, forensic family law evaluations, as well as clinical supervision for Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy interns seeking licensure in Florida. I focus my clinical work on helping adolescents and teens under stress and adults who have lived through difficult times as children. This means that many of my clients identify as Gen-Z, millennials, and high-achieving professionals who have experienced trauma in their families of origin and desire to seek and engage in healthier relationships with themselves and with others. In the last few years as my practice has become more specialized, a common denominator is that many of my clients are exploring their brain style and its accompanying traits. Consequently, my ideal client is someone exploring how their ADHD, giftedness, and/or autism are impacting their school & work performance, their mental & physical health, and their relationships. Neurodiversity affirming therapy is a client-centered approach that recognizes the diversity of human experience and promotes acceptance, inclusion, and empowerment for individuals with neurological differences. As a result, my therapeutic approach is strengths-based, supportive, goal-oriented, and trauma-informed. As a systemic therapist, that means addressing diversity, gender, power, and other sociocultural dimensions is an inherent part of the work we will do together. My own lived experience combined with over a decade of working with neurodivergent individuals and their families allows me to bring unique perspective and empathy to the therapeutic space. You might like my style if you are craving- or even open to – exploration of your inner child, befriending your body, gaining emotional intelligence, and navigating healthier relationships.
I know that simply being around others feels like an almost impossible task much of the time; people can be selfish, ignorant, and judgmental, at times even your family and friends. You've endured abuse and often are overwhelmed with emotion. Your external life and what you feel within yourself can feel wholly disconnected -- It is precisely because of this disconnection that we suffer. I am here to listen, to learn of your experiences, and together we will awaken a new sense of yourself by discovering a hidden humanity in others, revealing a world you never thought possible. You don’t have to live disconnected, suffering without end. I approach healing from a relational perspective, in which I believe our most powerful tool for change can be harnessed through relationships. We all naturally have the capacity to relate in ways that promote growth, we simply have never been shown how. I’m here to nurture this experience with you. I understand that taking the step to engage in therapy is a big ask. Trust isn’t easy; it’s fragile. But, I profoundly believe in the power of developing a relationship that promotes learning and spurs curiosity. It’s spiritual for me - the essence of joy, love, and beauty, and I truly wish for all to experience it. Will you take this step with me?
At Natural Behavioral Health we focus on the person as a whole. We believe that true wellness comes from nurturing the whole person so that the mind , body, and spirit are in harmony. We provide a welcoming, judgment free environment.
As a therapist, I specialize in supporting people who feel trapped by anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and past trauma. I work with clients of all ages who find themselves overwhelmed by fears, stuck in cycles of perfectionism, coping with life transitions, or navigating complex relationships. My main goal is to help create and cultivate a space that feels authentic and safe, and I draw on a bunch of different modalities (ACT, CBT, DBT) to meet my clients where they are at. I love working with students because I too was just a student, and I know firsthand the challenges of trying to meet external, academic pressures, navigate relationships, and trying to manage and balance mental health struggles. If you resonate with my approach or experience, please reach out :)
Sara Pelaez is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professional practicing in Georgia, Illinois, and Florida. She works with individuals and couples with a focus on students. Many of her clients have found great success in their personal and college lives, but struggle to feel connected in their relationships or at peace in their daily lives. Sara is particularly sensitive to clients facing present-past trauma, moments of transition, relationship or emotional issues when the delicate balance can seem to tremble, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can emerge. Sara’s approach is rooted in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Emotional Focus Therapy. These are evidence-based approaches that focus on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected so that they can begin to make a targeted change. It is a bottom-up/top-down approach that provides a 360 view of the client's inner world. She works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change. Sara is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress: her style is interactive, non-judgmental, and positions clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go. A trauma-informed therapist, Sara is sensitive to the influence of past experiences on present challenges and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and compassion. Sara’s first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. As a seasoned telehealth provider, she offers the convenience of remote sessions to help make therapy a core component of your self-care calendar.
