College can be overwhelming. It can be filled with anxiety, stress, loneliness and other tough encounters. Whether you are navigating a new relationship, juggling course work and social life or having trouble simply adjusting, therapy can help! I have worked with a number of college students and have supported them with issues including, body image concerns, perfectionism, student-athlete struggles, depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, transitioning from college to the "real word" OCD and relationship issues. You don't have to navigate this chapter of your life alone. I am here for you! I am licensed in MA, PA, NJ and TX and work with you via tele-health if you are from any of the above states.

With over 25 years of experience as a community-based social worker—and the last 7 years in private practice—I’ve developed a deep capacity for listening, supporting, and, most importantly, healing. My approach is designed to help people navigate anxiety that often arises from life’s unexpected challenges, whether big or small. I’m certified in EMDR and incorporate a range of complementary therapeutic methods tailored to each individual. If you find yourself struggling with issues that others—or even you—might dismiss as minor, it may be time to strengthen your skills and move beyond survival into a life where you can truly thrive.

Are you feeling pressure to perform in the classroom, on the field/court/rink, in the studio/on stage, or any other extracurricular? Are you struggling to figure out what direction to go in academically or professionally? Are you feeling tied down from your past or worried about the impending future? Are you dealing with current, here-and-now distress? These stressors and uncertainties can be overwhelming and therapy is the right place to explore them, cultivate insight around them, and develop ways to overcome. Therapy is a tool to support you in accepting the things you can't change and building capacity to effectively change the things that you can- it's a balancing act. Life is too short to spend our time suffering unnecessarily or spinning our wheels trying to effect change. If you are reading this, you are probably already responding to a felt need for support- this is a good thing! Now it's time to do one of the hardest parts- get started. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, goal-directed, and guided by on-going feedback. I balance compassionate, non-judgmental support with encouragement to take thoughtful, measured risks- helping clients build confidence in their capacity to tolerate, move through, heal, and grow from life’s challenges. If you feel that now is the time, I'd love to hear from you and I'd be happy to set up a consultation call to figure out if we'd be a good fit. Please reach out!

I have been in private practice since 1997. After graduating from the California School of Professional Psychology with a Ph.D in clinical psychology and U.C. Berkeley with an MPH, I practiced in California which included attending privileges at several hospitals. I moved back East in 2001, and have been in private practice since that time. In addition to my private practice, I provide consultation to the University of Massachusetts Medical School Department of Psychiatry medical students, residents and fellows. I see undergraduate students from MIT to Worcester State, as well as high school students. I can say with complete honesty that I love my work and feel blessed to be of service to those willing to share their lives and collaborate to find the life they need. People come to share their deepest hopes and their deepest pain. Together we make sense of life in a way that works for you. Sh

Welcome! Thank you for being here. I'm so excited to get to know you and your nervous system. As a trauma and somatic therapist, I help women process unresolved trauma through a Somatic Experiencing framework while also helping them increase self-esteem, self-confidence, set healthy boundaries and ultimately live an intentional life outside of survival mode. I work with women experiencing anxiety, dissociation, trauma flashbacks/memories and psychosomatic symptoms. Psychosomatic symptoms include, muscle tension, burning sensations, non-epileptic seizures, heart palpitations, tightness in the throat, tingling, IBS, migraines, etc. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work with your nervous system to help create safety in your body, increase the capacity for you to be with uncomfortable emotions/sensations, and discharge stored traumatic energy so that your nervous system can return to a more balanced state. If you're ready to connect with your body, somatic therapy is for you. I offer ongoing individual therapy sessions as well as DROP-IN sessions. Drop-in sessions are the perfect way to try out Somatic Experiencing without committing to ongoing therapy. To book your drop-in session, visit my website and book online. I'm looking forward to connecting with you soon! :)

I'm passionate about working with college students who are finding life to be overwhelming and exhausting. Maybe you're heartbroken over loss, burdened with guilt, feeling you'll never be good enough, are scared, or at wits' end. Or maybe something happened to you, and it sticks with you giving you no rest. When we feel this way, we tend to isolate, berate ourselves, and spiral in our thinking or distract ourselves from these debilitating feelings. You're not alone. These feelings and responses are common, and there are evidence-based treatments to help you make sense of your concerns, take good care of yourself, and take your next steps. My main approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) while also building a warm, therapeutic relationship. I'm also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. That said, therapy is collaborative. You are the expert on yourself, and I will work with you to find the approach that best suits you. My goal is to help you not only feel better but to grow in ways that make a healthier life both possible and sustainable. Many people feel hesitant about starting therapy. Growth can be a challenging road—I hope to meet you on that road, and help with your journey.

I work with individuals who have experienced grief/loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, challenges in relationships, and difficult life transitions. I love using art therapy to increase insight and awareness into our thoughts and feelings. I am also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and use this modality to help clients identify and reprocess memories that have contributed to the beliefs they hold about themselves. I am a warm, straightforward therapist focused on providing effective treatment. I work to connect genuinely with each of my patients because I believe the first component of effective treatment is the formation of a trusting, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. With this relationship as the foundation, we can then collaboratively determine your goals and take measurable steps to achieving the change you want in your life. I specialize in the treatment of adolescents and young adults struggling with depression, sexual and gender identity, suicidality, emotion regulation, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship problems, family issues, academic and occupational stress, and life transitions. I specialize in Dialectical and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These approaches seek to provide practical skills to manage the emotions and thoughts that are interfering with our lives. I have also trained in trauma based and exposure protocols. In addition, I have specific training in supporting those who identify as gender non-conforming and offer both assessment and supportive counseling to individuals and families. I appreciate the courage it takes to talk with a therapist. Therapy is a very active process, with both the client and the therapist putting in considerable effort, and I will work with you to create the treatment environment that best meets your individual needs.
