Therapists for college students near 19104
Psychotherapists in our office offer individual psychotherapy services. Our staff accept major insurances. Some of our staff do not work with insurance and offer out-of-pocket fees on a competitive sliding scale. In addition to being trained and practicing mental health clinicians, our small staff share a background in and passion for the humanities. We believe this influences the way we listen, stay calm and connected in the face of pain, feel familiar and grounding in strange situations, and make room for other things when stuck in a thought or a feeling. First call. Leave a message with your name, phone number, and a few times during the week when you know you can speak privately for up to half an hour with one of our intake coordinators, free of charge. The office for psychotherapy and the humanities is supervised by Dr. Mest, licensed psychologist and teacher.
We specialize in the treatment of Trauma/PTSD, alcohol/drug problems and co-occuring disorders. We also use evidence-based treatment to address anxiety, fears and phobias and other mental health problems.
You might feel torn between what you want and what everyone else expects from you. You try to make the right choices, keep the peace, and be there for everyone, yet you are left feeling anxious, guilty, and unsure of your own needs. I work with women who feel stuck in relationships, career decisions, and life transitions, and who want to understand themselves more clearly and set healthier boundaries. My work is grounded in CBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, strengths-based therapy, and Trauma Informed care. I pay close attention to the mind-body connection because it often reveals what words cannot. Our goal is to help you feel more like yourself, more confident in your decisions, and more connected to what you truly want. I show up with honesty, compassion, and a little humor. I will support you, challenge you, and call out the patterns that keep showing up so you can stay focused on what matters to you. Guided by values of nonjudgment, curiosity, nonviolence, and compassion for all beings; We understand healing as an intentional process of cultivating healthy, respectful, and authentic relationships with ourselves, with others, and with our wider community. We aim to serve and strengthen our community by helping to reduce stigma and expand understanding around mental health and wellbeing, while increasing awareness of the interpersonal, social, cultural, and physical environments that may help or hinder development. We acknowledge and work to change harmful systems, beliefs, and conditions; and support individuals to live in alignment with their values and live with agency, dignity, and joy within these contexts. We believe that growth and meaningful change can occur at any stage of life and are essential for lasting mental health. We approach our work with reverence and humility, and consider it a privilege to serve and support you on life's journey.
Welcoming in creatives, artists, and performers! Currently accepting new clients. Has your creative drive disappeared behind a booming inner critic that’s never satisfied? Ever wondered why you’ve been in therapy for years, but the old problems persist? I specialize in helping creatives like you, with histories of relational or sexual trauma, heal from the inside out; building internal spaces of worthiness that aren’t dependent on external validation to feel whole. I use music, somatic work, and depth psychology to partner with you, going beyond words into the layers of your emotional world. Trauma lives in the body, but so does music. Together, we’ll use the music you love to explore and gently move through the memories, beliefs, and responses keeping you stuck, so you can build a home within. This work is often spiritual, guided by your imagination, embodied awareness, and inner wisdom. We ask: what was wrong with what happened to you? Not, what is wrong with you. My warm, compassionate approach supports reconnection with your authentic self. Please visit my website to book your first appointment or email me with any questions.

After 40+ years of experience working with depression, anxiety, and stress management, I continue to find deep gratification in helping people relieve suffering and transform their lives. If sexuality is part of your problem, I am one of few professionals certified as a sex therapist, supervisor, and fellow by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. I work exclusively with teletherapy, which I find to be as effective as in-person sessions. You can reach me best at robsch77@gmail.com
