I have practiced child, adolescent and adult psychiatry in Pittsburgh since 1976. I graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1972 and completed specialty training at the University of PIttsburgh School of Medicine/Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in 1976. I am a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and bipolar disorders. My approach is to be thorough and to evaluate and treat each individual systematically and carefully. I have extensive experience with difficult to treat psychiatric conditions. I have a full time office manager and a 24 hour per day answering service. I am available for emergencies. Someone will always answer my telephone and all telephone calls are returned. My typical visits are from 20 to 60 minutes depending on the needs of each person.

Hi, I'm Alex. I work with young adults who experience the stress of going through life's transitions. I often find that clients experience perfectionism, shame, and guilt. Growing up, if we missed out on empathy, emotional validation, encouragement, or secure connection, we may be saddled with the belief that we are "not worthy", or "never good enough". We may struggle to accept our authentic self and be true to ourselves when we are going through difficult emotions. To feel confident and connected in relationships we need to keep showing up where we are fully seen and loved, flaws and all. I help clients work towards peace in their lives and oneness with themselves. I encourage clients to honor what once served them while letting go of what no longer serves them in relationships. I also work with individuals effected by cycles of trauma, addiction, and disconnection. I approach therapy from a relational, trauma-informed, and culturally competent perspective. EMDR and art making techniques can be used for radical self expression, to update clients' survival brain "software" and complete neural network integration. Kimberly Hoff, MA, LPC, NCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Newtown, PA as well as virtually in New Jersey and Connecticut. Kim graduated from Rider University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program. During her time at Rider, she conducted research focusing on school counselors’ approaches to treating disordered eating and trauma. Kim also received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical & Counseling Psychology from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), where she also conducted extensive research into the intersection of trauma and eating disorders. Kim has published in the American Association of School Counselors magazine, and has facilitated presentations on eating disorders in university and high school settings. Kim also works as a trained facilitator with the National Alliance for Eating Disorders running virtual support groups for those struggling and their loved ones. Kim’s therapeutic style is informed by her lived experiences of eating disorder recovery and as a member of the queer community.
