Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
Hi, I’m Kaila, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker helping college students overcome anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. Many of my clients struggle with constant overthinking, pressure to keep up with expectations, or feeling stuck between what they “should” be doing and what actually feels fulfilling. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, gain clarity, and begin making meaningful changes that support your well-being. My approach is collaborative and client-focused, designed to meet you where you are and support your individualized goals.
Are you feeling caught in old patterns, overwhelmed by anxiety, or unsure how to feel confident in your own skin? I specialize in helping adolescents and adults work through addiction, anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, and body image issues. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can explore challenges, values, and build practical strategies and work towards growth. I bring warmth, humor, and clear guidance to therapy. Cognitive techniques help uncover how thoughts shape emotions and actions, while mindfulness fosters calm and focus. We’ll also explore your values to guide our work. Humor keeps things light, and directness ensures we stay on track. Together, we’ll work toward lasting growth and confidence.
My name is Ryan Welborn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a degree from Naropa University. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with emotional challenges, trauma, and difficulty in navigating personal growth. I help by utilizing an integrative approach that blends Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) with psychodynamic, transpersonal, and mindfulness-based techniques. My goal is to support you in facing and transforming the challenges that arise in your life, guiding you through a process of deep healing and self-discovery. In our first few sessions, you can expect a supportive space where we will begin exploring the deeper layers of your inner world. Together, we will uncover and work through what holds you back, cultivating resilience and creating lasting change. My practice is unique because I view therapy as a transformative journey, yet ultimately leading to a more authentic and fulfilling life. I am passionate about this work because I believe in the power of facing challenges head-on and emerging stronger. Helping others navigate their own transformation is incredibly meaningful to me.

Starting or navigating college is a massive transition, and it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed. Many of the students I work with find themselves feeling stuck, exhausted, or constantly bracing for the next deadline. You might be a good fit for my practice if you recognize yourself in any of these experiences: The Anxiety Loop: Your mind won't shut off, you're constantly overthinking social interactions, or you feel a paralyzing pressure to be perfect. The Weight of Depression: You’re feeling drained, losing interest in things you used to enjoy, or finding it incredibly hard to just get out of bed and attend class. The ADHD Hurdle: You want to succeed, but staying organized, focusing on lectures, and overcoming procrastination feel like an uphill battle every single day. In our sessions, you don’t have to pretend you have it all together. There is no judgment here. Together, we will figure out what’s draining your energy and build practical, real-world strategies to help you manage stress, regain your focus, and actually enjoy your college experience. You don't have to carry this alone—let's take it one step at a time.
"Finding that there is more to life, beyond food and fear" . . . is the heart of my therapeutic philosophy. Most of my clients live in fear around how much food they eat . . . or do not eat. Their relationship with food has devolved into one of pain and hiding versus pleasure and health. I use a Gestalt approach which gives voice to a person’s two conflicting parts: the part wanting to hold onto the old, comfortable eating patterns and their "benefits", and the part yearning to let go for permanent growth and healing. Clients ultimately can reach a place where they discover choice, freedom and a healthy relationship with food. What I offer, that is different, is a no-frills, direct approach . . backed with over 20 years of extensive counseling practice and hands-on experience working with a wide continuum of mental health and addictions issues. My approach works for many clients as I truly believe that effective counseling deals with "unfinished business" and patterns from our past, which play out in our lives today. Once identified and challenged, clients can then find "choice" and make the key changes that will truly sustain into the future. Most people who contact me are already aware that they are doing their best AND that something is not working and needs to change. Are you up for a change? Please note, I do not accept insurance through my private practice but you can find me on the Sondermind platform to potentially use your insurance.

It's dangerous to go alone! If you're struggling to cope with stressors or experiencing mental health concerns, you deserve help. I am is a bicultural therapist, mother and wife who is passionate about supporting my clients while they navigate their unique life, relationships, and transitions. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. I have a BA in Psychology and a master’s degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. I am trained in trauma-based therapy and EMDR. I can support you both in English and Spanish. As a somatic therapist, I believe in the phenomenal connection between body and mind. I work to help her clients understand and establish a close relationship with their bodies. My somatic training supports the healing process by helping clients understanding how tuning into the nervous system alone can generate more wellbeing in daily life. I work with families, couples, children, teens and adults. As a therapist, I advocate and work with people of diverse backgrounds. My main lens is on the importance of how relationships shape who we are. I have experience working within various forms of attachment-based therapy and utilizes a trauma informed perspective to meet her clients where they are. My main purpose is to create a safe space to explore and unfold the process of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I am passionate about my clients and the specific supports they’re seeking and know how to apply my training at the level others can understand. When it comes to breaking down barriers, I believe in the power of understanding, exploring, and joining around challenges that can often lead to division and disconnection with self and others. In my work I find that it’s very important to feel seen and recognized in ways that are compassionate and respectful on all accounts. I like to laugh a lot and finds that rushing into things or placing timelines on major life processes can sometimes be unrealistic in the therapeutic setting. In my eyes I see that each of us has a unique understanding around our own timing and rhythm in the world, especially when challenged with life transitions. Offering therapy online.
There is no “right” way to do therapy, and people need different kinds of help depending on their current life situation and stage of life. Some clients are in need of coping skills to help them with communication, emotion regulation and getting through stressful times. Other clients are looking for help finding meaning and purpose in their day to day lives. I use a combination of mindfulness, dream work, interpersonal skills, guided meditation, coping skills and active imagination to help clients find relief from symptoms related to anxiety, depression, lack of meaning, and struggles in their relationships. Over the last 25 years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings helping people with various psychological difficulties including combat related issues, severe and persistent mental illness, cumulative relational trauma, psychological struggles related to brain injury, and trauma related to disasters and violence. I believe the goal of therapy is not necessarily to help clients pursue a “happier” life, or even self-awareness for the sake of self-awareness, but to better be able to bring a more soulful way of living back out into their lives; their families and relationships, communities, and the greater world.
