Do you feel numb or disconnected lately? Struggling to manage emotions, stay focused, or keep up with everything on your plate? Maybe perfectionism is running the show—even when you’re exhausted. Maybe you’re using drinking, weed, or other habits to cope. Maybe guilt, shame, or feeling “not enough” hits you more than you let on. Relationships might feel confusing or repetitive, or you might find yourself always on alert, restless, isolating, or overworking because slowing down feels uncomfortable. College can also bring up painful experiences you didn’t expect—old wounds, traumatic events, or something that happened (like sexual assault or abuse) that changed how you feel about yourself, others, or the world. Adjusting socially, emotionally, and academically can be harder than anyone talks about. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work experientially, integrating somatic approaches, EMDR, psychodrama, and other in-action modalities to help you reconnect with yourself, shift stuck patterns, and feel more grounded and in control of your life again.
Hey! My name is Elena, I use she/her pronouns, and I work with rebels, rioters, and revolutionaries. My practice is one that centers and celebrates authenticity, courageous exploration, and a collaborative, therapeutic relationship. In practice, this can look like taking the time to build trust and connection, pulling from a wide variety of modalities, and curiosity and silliness when needed (which I believe is often!) I have seen many therapists feel the need to rush into “fixing”; in my work, there is no rush and there is no “fixing”. Together, we will sit in the messy experience of being human; exploring and learning from our pain while uplifting and celebrating the joys. We will co-create your therapy experience, making it into whatever you need it to be in order to feel as safe as possible. I bring an anti-oppression and decolonization lens to the work of therapy, as this helps to ensure that I do my best to mitigate the harmful impacts of these systemic issues in the healing space. I will certainly make mistakes. I hope you do, too! These are opportunities for both of us to practice collective learning, unlearning, and healing. I believe that therapy is community. We may share certain identities and there will be those we do not share, yet it remains a community. Let's be in joyous community together!
“With adversity comes opportunity” from the I Ching- Or Book of Changes The decision to seek therapy can be due to times of stress or the desire to seek change. We know that change is not always a straight path. To take a “road less traveled” can be filled with a beautiful river that flows and leads to clarity or it be a be a river filled with large boulders that need to be traversed with help and support. Therapy can be a tool that facilitates resilience and transformation. My approach in therapy is to first engage in a process of discovery. As your therapist, we will work together to discover what events, situations, and relationships in your life or your past do not work for you now. It is really important to understand how your life works in order to set goals and create change. Most importantly, it is important to remember that change affects all the people in your life. I am passionate about my work and aim to build a collaborative partnership with my clients, fostering transformation, fulfillment, and growth. I believe in establishing trust and letting the present moment guide the therapeutic process. I work toward developing a deeper understanding of how our body sensations, mind, and emotions shape our sense of well-being. Throughout my 25 years of experience, I have worked with a wide range of counseling and therapy modalities. I'm bilingual in English and Hebrew and can offer services in both languages. One of the most important elements of therapy is finding the right fit. To explore whether working with me feels right for you, please email me at ornapele@gmail.com. You’re feeling stuck and you are so ready to make progress, but you’re questioning every decision. You hear people talk about “inner knowing” but you are so disconnected that it feels like your compass is broken, and you have no idea which way to go, or how to get there, or where “there” is. Feeling stuck, confused, unsure how to move forward - these can be related to anxiety and depression, or they can be the symptoms of going through big life transitions. Or both. If you find yourself scrolling through social media, numbing out with Netflix, waking up dreading the day, or just feeling a bit lost — I’m here for you. My therapeutic style is non-judgemental, but also honest. With your permission, I will brainstorm with you, make suggestions and offer guidance. I won’t give you my answers as if they are the only right ones. The answers are inside you. My job is to help you bring them to the surface. My specialty is in helping you to get in touch with your inner knowing so you can navigate life transitions with clarity and confidence, move through grief, process trauma, get a grip on overwhelm and anxiety, and find the best way to move forward. I can’t wait to meet you.
I offer counseling and psychotherapy to a wide range of individuals and couples. My approach is integrative and collaborative and focused on the therapeutic relationship. The work will focus not only on what you feel and think, but also how you relate with others, how your body responds, and how meaning emerges through your lived experiences. Together we can explore patterns, bring awareness, cultivate compassion and find fresh perspectives to support you to thrive. I am a psychotherapist, astrologer, and nurturing guide on the path to remembering our wholeness. I have been a licensed professional counselor, offering services in the Boulder Community for 14 years, including community mental health, primary care and private practice. As an intuitive soul, I facilitate clients of all ages through a transformative and empowering process that results in meaningful integration, alignment to calling, and a curiosity around personal and interpersonal depth. My aim is to serve clients who are awakening to their innermost authenticity and truth. My work is informed by evidenced-based practices, astrology, myth, transpersonal methodologies and Ecopsychology.
My expertise is in helping people change how they feel or behave using evidence-based therapy and guidance. I focus on building a trusting relationship in which you feel open to discuss and work on whatever aspects of your life that you are hoping to change. People tell me they quickly feel at ease talking with me. Together we assess what feelings, thoughts or behaviors you would like to change or feel differently about or how you would like a relationship to be different. We make goals together to guide this process. I then guide you on how to make these changes, sustain them, and assess when you have attained them.
