Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
You are insightful, sensitive, and often hard on yourself — even when no one else sees it. Maybe you’ve learned to cope by staying busy, staying strong, or staying small. But beneath the surface, you’re longing for more: more peace, more connection, more truth. I work with college students navigating anxiety, trauma, self-worth, relationship struggles, and life transitions
Do you ever feel like whatever normal is, it just isn't you? Do you feel like you need to diminish yourself in order to "get along", or like you are always getting in your own way? My passion is to help you tune in to and express the "you" that feels most authentic. I work with teens and adults around issues of ADHD and anxiety, trauma, gender and sexual identity, open relationships/ENM and healthy boundaries, and navigating a changing world. I specialize with recent ADHD diagnoses.
My expertise is in helping people change how they feel or behave using evidence-based therapy and guidance. I focus on building a trusting relationship in which you feel open to discuss and work on whatever aspects of your life that you are hoping to change. People tell me they quickly feel at ease talking with me. Together we assess what feelings, thoughts or behaviors you would like to change or feel differently about or how you would like a relationship to be different. We make goals together to guide this process. I then guide you on how to make these changes, sustain them, and assess when you have attained them.
Are you feeling overwhelmed with the changes happening in your life or maybe you feel stuck and not able to effectively communicate with family and friends? Maybe the situations in your life are leaving you feeling sad, hopeless, stressed, or powerless. I offer a flexible approach to therapy through Telehealth for you to explore the changes you are wanting to make. I take an empathetic and nurturing approach by using strength based and person centered methods of communication with clients. By using evidence based practices we will focus on your empowerment and understanding of self. My role to you as your therapist is to show up in a collaborative and authentic way. I’m here to support you with working on matters of the heart and know that it is hard to show up and be at our most vulnerable self, so you will be heard and your voice does matter!

Hi there, I’m Sydney - I work with people who are looking to heal their relationship with food and find freedom from the mental obsession of a number on the scale, “right” foods, “being good”, bingeing, restricting, over-exercising, and chronic dieting. I believe that the path to feeling at peace with your body and the foods you eat is a unique experience.
You’re carrying a lot right now. Maybe it feels like everything is too much, or maybe you just can’t quite name what feels off, only that something isn’t working the way it used to. You might be standing at a crossroads, unsure which way to go, or trying to move forward while feeling stuck in place. That uncertainty can be exhausting. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to show up with a plan, just a willingness to begin. Together, we’ll slow things down to explore what’s weighing on you, uncover what matters most, and find a way to move forward. I offer individual therapy for folks who are navigating difficult life transitions, exploring their identity, processing complex trauma, or just curious about how their lived experiences shape how they move through the world.
I am passionate about my work and aim to build a collaborative partnership with my clients, fostering transformation, fulfillment, and growth. I believe in establishing trust and letting the present moment guide the therapeutic process. I work toward developing a deeper understanding of how our body sensations, mind, and emotions shape our sense of well-being. Throughout my 25 years of experience, I have worked with a wide range of counseling and therapy modalities. I'm bilingual in English and Hebrew and can offer services in both languages. One of the most important elements of therapy is finding the right fit. To explore whether working with me feels right for you, please email me at ornapele@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

My goal is to help you find new ways to relate to the world and to enable you to embrace your experiences more fully and bravely. I hope to do this by creating a safe, open, and collaborative environment where you can experiment with new ways of relating to yourself and others. I bring in skills from therapies, such as ACT and DBT, to help you find your strengths and develop your resources. And I recognize that the most growth occurs in an authentic relationship which balances compassion with challenge and emphasizes social justice and intersectionality. Having recovered from an eating disorder, I approach my work from a Health-at-Every-Size and fat-positive framework. All bodies are good bodies, all foods are good foods, and all emotions are valid. I also have experience working with interpersonal trauma, grief, relationship struggles, disordered eating and body image concerns, and identity development, as well as anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
I have spent the past 20 years helping students with the work of school success and growing into healthy, happy adults. My background includes teaching high school, running a summer camp, school counseling, and directing September High School. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring these experiences into his clinical work. I use a variety of approaches to help people get more functional and feel more successful. Some benefit from Dan’s short-term, cognitive-behavioral interventions. For other clients, Dan approaches ongoing therapy from a Humanistic and Gestalt view.

Welcome and thank you for taking this first step toward becoming the best version of you! As a student, you already have some much to deal with without the added stress of anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance use issues, trauma/PTSD, grief and loss or whatever it is that you are currently dealing with. I am here to help carry some of that burden while we work toward the life you want, together. As a therapist, I value open, collaborative communication. You know yourself best and I am here to take your lead and support you in whatever capacity you need. I have experience and passion working with all the challenges listed previously. I look forward to starting this journey with you.
I have been working in the outpatient setting for over 10 years. I've rotated through a student mental health clinic during my training and have worked with many college aged students. College can be an exciting time of change and growth and finding purpose and connection. College can also be a big adjustment, as you acclimate to a new setting, new responsibilities and being away from home for an extended period, sometimes for the first time. It is often during these big life changes that you may need a little extra help settling in, getting into new routines. Through a combination of therapy and careful use of medication, we can work on getting you in a place to fully engage in and enjoy your college experience.
I offer counseling and psychotherapy to a wide range of individuals and couples. My approach is integrative and collaborative and focused on the therapeutic relationship. The work will focus not only on what you feel and think, but also how you relate with others, how your body responds, and how meaning emerges through your lived experiences. Together we can explore patterns, bring awareness, cultivate compassion and find fresh perspectives to support you to thrive. Hi! My main goal is always to help my clients to help themselves, so you feel empowered to embrace stress and change as it comes. With experience working in an eating disorder hospital and 7 years working as a therapist in the Athletic Depts at UT Austin and CU Boulder, I've been involved with supporting my clients through the life challenges that high schoolers, young adults, and adults face for my entire professional career. I am EMDR certified and use this to treat trauma, eating disorders, chronic pain, urges in addiction/EDs, and sport performance (both positive reinforcement as well as treating mental blocks). I particularly enjoy teaching tools for navigating anxiety and depressive symptoms, helping to make peace with body image, and supporting mental performance for sport. I also have a passion for supporting perfectionists to expand their view of themselves and learn to release a little of the control that is actually controlling them!
