At my core I’m a human being continually learning to love all that it means to have a human experience in our crazy world. The natural world is my muse, and I enjoy live music, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, and overlanding the American West. My personal journey through life has helped me to develop a keen interest in human emotion, thoughts, and experiences. Through an attitude of curiosity, I’ve learned to allow my own experiences, emotions and thoughts to inform my moment-by-moment existence in a way that permits me to truly love my life. Strongly influenced by American psychologist Carl Rogers, I believe each human being has a unique and individual definition of what it means to live a life they love. In order to attain this, like Rogers, I believe people need acceptance, genuineness and empathy. My approach to therapy aims to help you live a life you love by weaving in a number of modalities including DBT, ACT, CBT, IFS, and mindfulness. My methodology is grounded in psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, psychoanalytic theory, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and a relationship-centered approach to therapy. Prior to my MSW, I received my BA in Mathematics and had a career in data and analytics. I love logic and using data to inform thoughtful decision-making. In a therapeutic context this means practicing deep listening to ensure I capture my clients’ unique words, feelings, insights, emotions, and stories. Through this, I aim to support you in realizing your potential and achieving your goals. I support people and couples through a number of different mental health difficulties including but not limited to trauma, loss, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, anger, addictions, self-esteem issues, body-dysmorphia, and other life transitions.
My goal is to provide a therapy space where the heart, mind, and body can come together to heal in a neutral, nonjudgmental, whole-person way. You will feel listened to and can come as you are and be accepted. Within this comfortable therapy space, you will have the freedom to be creative with your natural healing process. My intention is for you to experience and benefit from insights and therapy ideas that are tailored specifically to you. You will have the freedom to create the life you most want to live. I bring to therapy many years of professional and life experience. I have had professional experience with, as well as, in some cases, close personal association or life-experience with: addiction issues, codependency, all types of trauma and PTSD, severe mental and physical illness, bipolar disorder, depression, divorce, abusive relationships, legal difficulties, gender expression, sexuality differences, grief, elder issues, and anxiety. Every person is unique and a mystery. I love my job because it is endlessly fascinating and fulfilling to meet each new person as they are, help them explore their lives, and guide them to discover their unique path. I look forward to meeting you!

I'm here to offer support and guidance on your healing journey. Within life's challenges, there's an opportunity to discover peace, calmness, and effective coping strategies. Our therapeutic journey will be collaborative—working to identify goals and implement strategies for positive change. If you're ready to embark on this journey of self-discovery and growth, I'm here to support you. Whether you prefer to reach out by phone call or email, I look forward to meeting and walking alongside you.

Life is challenging and confusing, especially during a time like right now. Given the pandemic, many of us are attempting to find normalcy in an extremely abnormal situation. Everyday life has become even more stressful, it's harder to be in relationship, and finding moments of "okay" might be few and far between. Having your own space to talk about your experiences, whether dealing with the present situation or managing old wounds, is not only important but beneficial for maintaining our mental health. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults on a variety of issues. Primarily, I help clients by bringing attention to the storylines we have created (and will continue to create) about ourselves that cause pain, distress, and disconnection. These stories might look like: I am not [fill in the blank] enough; I should be happier/more successful/less afraid; I am unworthy of love; I can't manage life on life's terms; I’m an outsider. Uncovering these storylines and reframing them is the beginning to living a different life, one that feels, well frankly, better.
Hi! I’m Jeanette. I’m a licensed professional counselor in Colorado with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. Before starting my private practice in 2018 I worked in several different inpatient as well as outpatient settings including inpatient psychiatric units and emergency rooms. I have worked with all ages but I currently focus on working with teens, college students, and younger adults up to age 45 or so. I practice mainly from person-centered standpoints which emphasizes everyone’s innate ability to change and grow. I have worked extensively with survivors of trauma, and am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am very passionate about physical activity and the importance of integrating it into everyone’s daily routine. I also emphasize the role of nutrition for mental wellness and am currently receiving additional training in this area. Our brains are a part of our body and any mental health treatment should include significant time to ensure that you are also in good physical health. On the personal side, I am married and have three great kids ranging in age from preschool to high school. Whenever I get a chance, I’m out walking my dogs, Skips and Teegan. I’ve lived in Arvada for the past 15 years and, while I’m not a native, I definitely consider Colorado home.
Do you have that sinking sensation that you are not in control of your own life? Your decisions are governed by hidden desires, urges, fears, and conditioning - the unconscious. If unexamined it has the terrible power to ruin you, but, if harnessed, it can be a source of incredible power, motivation, and creativity. Now is the time to take your first step towards freedom. Pick up the torch of awareness and walk, head held high, into the darkness of your unconscious mind!
As a licensed MFT and a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) trained in Trauma Resilience (TRM), I am absolutely passionate about helping those impacted by sexual integrity issues. I work with addicts and their partners using individual, couple, and group therapy modalities. I compassionately work to guide addicts through isolating and shame-filled experiences. My role is to help reduce this shame and systematically get to the root of the addictive and compulsive behaviors that have led to intimacy disorder issues. As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), I hold extensive expertise in treating those affected by compulsive sexual behavior having gone through my own recovery journey from sex, porn, and relationship addiction. I am trained in the 30-Task Recovery model (group therapy), PACT Couples therapy model, and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) for individuals.
Hi, I’m Lauren Hugunin, MFTC, and I know that college is a time of huge transitions—academically, socially, and personally. You might be navigating new relationships, exploring your identity, or dealing with the pressures of dating, sex, and intimacy. On top of that, shifting family dynamics can bring their own challenges, whether it's increased independence, lingering expectations, or navigating difficult conversations about who you are becoming. I provide a safe, affirming space where you can process these experiences without shame or judgment. Whether you’re struggling with communication in your relationships, working through past experiences that impact intimacy, or feeling tension with family as you grow into your own person, I’m here to support you. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Let’s work together to help you build confidence, set boundaries, and create relationships that truly align with who you are. Meaning-Making & Life Transitions | Anxiety, Grief, and Healing There are times in life when the questions feel too big: Why does everything feel so disconnected from what I imagined? How do I keep moving forward when I’m not sure where to go? If you’ve built a life that looks good on the outside but feels off on the inside, you’re not alone. Maybe you’ve spent years pushing forward, staying busy, and doing what’s expected—only to find yourself feeling restless, anxious, or disconnected from what once drove you. Or maybe something big has shifted—grief, a transition, an unexpected change—and suddenly, the certainty you once relied on isn’t there anymore. I understand this because I’ve lived it. Losing both of my parents during some of the most formative years of my life left me grappling with a depth of grief and confusion I wasn’t prepared for. In my late teens and early adulthood, I had to figure out how to keep going while everything around me was shifting. It was a messy, painful journey that took me to the darkest corners of myself, forcing me to confront emotions I hadn’t even realized I was carrying. And through it, I eventually learned that healing doesn’t come from pushing through or pretending to be okay. It comes from creating space for what’s real—sitting with it, learning from it, and finding a way forward, even when it feels impossible. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s “broken,” but about understanding yourself in new ways. It’s about reconnecting with who you truly are, even when life has pulled you off course. In my practice, I offer a space for you to process what’s beneath the surface—without pressure, without judgment. Whether you’re navigating grief, dealing with anxiety, or facing a life transition that’s left you questioning everything, therapy can help you make sense of it. Healing with me isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about deep exploration, vulnerability, and learning how to reconnect with yourself and what truly matters to you. If any of this resonates, I’m here to walk with you through it—helping you rediscover clarity, confidence, and the courage to move forward in a way that feels right for you. Gabrielle Samo, MA, LPCC, earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University and understands that navigating life’s challenges can feel overwhelming. Her approach combines practical tools to help make sense of things (because sometimes we need a map) with the space to sit with what’s hard (because not everything can—or should—be fixed right away). Her work is informed by experience supporting individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses, as well as years of hospice volunteer work. Gabrielle Samo is supervised by Michelle Fagan, LPC #0016337.
